What was the Ramsmobile RM-X2?
The RM-X2 was an extreme SUV proposal from Ramsmobile, a company that described the vehicle as designed in Belarus and planned for manufacture in New Mexico. It appeared as a stationary display at the 2019 Frankfurt Motor Show. New Atlas wrote, “It’s on display at Frankfurt, so yes, it does exist,” a statement about the show vehicle—not evidence of road testing or series production. InsideHook made the distinction explicit: the RM-X2 was “real enough to sit stationary on a platform at an auto show.” That is the clearest physical milestone in the contemporaneous coverage. The reports describe a proposed vehicle and its features, not a tested production SUV.
What did Ramsmobile claim the RM-X2 would offer?
Powertrain and performance
Contemporaneous coverage listed three proposed powertrain directions: the 6.2-liter LT5 V8 used in the 2019 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1, a 6.6-liter Duramax diesel, or an electric motor and battery package whose details were not specified in the cited report. New Atlas also reported an advertised maximum of 999 hp, but noted that the stated engine choices did not clearly account for that figure. The mismatch matters: the 999-hp headline should not be treated as a verified output for every proposed version. The reporting does not identify a completed drivetrain configuration or provide test data that resolves how the power claim would be achieved.
Weight, seating and construction
New Atlas reported a proposed curb-weight range of 1,500–2,700 kg, depending on specification, along with four- or six-seat layouts and a carbon-and-titanium construction concept. These are reported design claims, not confirmed specifications for customer vehicles. New Atlas.

Suspension, off-road equipment and armor
IOL described a proposed hydropneumatic suspension with about 30 cm of travel, laser-based height sensing, Teflon-treated underbody components, bead-lock wheels and run-flat tires. Selectable two- or four-wheel drive was also described as an option. These details indicate the intended brief—a customizable luxury SUV with serious off-road ambitions—but the coverage does not document independent testing of the systems. IOL, September 17, 2019.
Armor and track deployment also appeared among the vehicle’s announced features. The reports do not establish a certified armor level, demonstrate deployment in a test, or document the RM-X2 completing a track or off-road evaluation. How much was the RM-X2 supposed to cost, and how many were planned?
New Atlas reported Ramsmobile’s announced “Ascetic” starting price as US$999,999 and a plan to accept no more than 12 made-to-order production orders for 2020. InsideHook described the starting price as just under US$1 million. These were announced terms and a planned production limit—not evidence that orders were fulfilled or that 12 vehicles were built. Was the Ramsmobile RM-X2 ever built or delivered?
The reports cited here do not establish whether the RM-X2 entered production, was delivered to customers, or is currently offered for sale. A 2019 report noted no known testing at the time, while a 2023 article repeated claims about price, production volume, armor and performance; repetition does not confirm completed vehicles or deliveries. The most reliable way to describe the RM-X2 is as a 2019 hyper-SUV announcement attached to a vehicle displayed at Frankfurt. The reported price, power, performance, materials and equipment explain the ambition of the project, but they should remain attributed claims. To establish that it became a production SUV would require evidence such as a completed vehicle with a documented specification, independent testing, regulatory approval for a stated market, or verifiable customer deliveries—none of which is established by the cited coverage.
