Lowndes told the Daily Telegraph, as quoted by PerthNow, that he felt ashamed, was getting help, and that he and his wife, Lara, were committed to working through the issue.
What PerthNow reported about the relationship
PerthNow reported on 2 July 2021 that Lowndes had been involved in a three-year online relationship with a woman he had never met in person. The report said they connected through Instagram and that the relationship ended in April 2021. PerthNow also reported that Lara briefly asked him to leave their home after learning about the relationship earlier that year.
Those details describe the account published at the time; the report does not establish the couple’s circumstances today. PerthNow’s 2 July 2021 report attributed its interview material to the Daily Telegraph.
What Lowndes said about shame and getting help
In the interview quoted by PerthNow, Lowndes said: “For me … I’m ashamed to be talking to you about this, it’s very sensitive to myself and Lara,” and “I’m getting help.” He also said Lara knew about the relationship and that they were committed to working through it. These were statements about the situation at that time, not a later update.
