Yamaha substantially redesigned the MT-07 for 2025, revising its chassis and suspension while adding electronic throttle control and updated rider aids. The specifics depend on market: Yamaha’s US specification lists a 403-pound wet weight and an $8,599 starting MSRP, while Yamaha Europe reports a 183-kilogram wet weight for its version. Yamaha also documents Y-AMT versions in Europe and Japan, but the reviewed US materials do not establish US availability.
What changed on the 2025 MT-07?
Yamaha’s 2025 update goes beyond new bodywork. The company lists changes to the frame and swingarm, front suspension, wheels, throttle system, instrumentation and rider aids. These are manufacturer specifications and feature claims, not independent ride-test findings.
Chassis, suspension and wheels
For Europe, Yamaha identifies a revised chassis, 41 mm inverted front forks, a die-cast aluminum triple clamp and SpinForged wheels. Yamaha’s US feature page also lists a revised frame and swingarm, a 41 mm inverted KYB fork, SpinForged wheels and radial-mount four-piston front calipers. Equipment can differ between markets, so the details for one region should not automatically be applied to another.
Throttle and rider aids
The 689 cc CP2 parallel twin gains Yamaha Chip Controlled Throttle (YCC-T), Yamaha’s electronic throttle system. Yamaha’s US page lists YRC riding modes and switchable traction control among the features enabled on the updated model. Yamaha Europe also lists YRC modes and switchable traction control.

Display, connectivity and lighting
Yamaha Europe lists a 5-inch TFT display with smartphone connectivity and navigation. For the US model, Yamaha lists smartphone linking through Y-Connect and turn-by-turn navigation through Garmin StreetCross. Yamaha says calls and messages can be received and music played through an aftermarket Bluetooth headset; the headset is not supplied with the motorcycle. Yamaha Japan’s announcement also identifies TFT instrumentation and new LED lighting for its market.
2025 MT-07 specifications: US and Europe
Published figures should be read alongside their market labels. Yamaha’s US specification page and Yamaha Europe’s announcement report different wet-weight figures for their respective versions.

Does the 2025 MT-07 have an automatic transmission?
Yamaha documents an optional Y-AMT version in its European announcement and an MT-07 Y-AMT ABS variant in its Japanese release. Those sources establish availability in those markets, not in the United States. The US product and specification pages reviewed describe the standard model and do not establish a US Y-AMT offering. Check Yamaha’s current local lineup for the market where you plan to buy.

How much does the 2025 Yamaha MT-07 cost in the US?
Yamaha’s US product page listed a starting MSRP of $8,599 and a $600 destination charge when retrieved on October 8, 2026. Yamaha notes that actual dealer prices are set by dealers and that MSRP excludes tax, title, preparation and destination charges. Ask a local dealer for a current out-the-door quote; listed prices and incentives can change.
The same product page showed a $750 customer cash offer dated July 1 through September 30, 2026. That promotion had expired by October 8, 2026, so it should not be counted as a current discount.

- Market and variant: Confirm whether the listing is for the US, European or Japanese version, and whether it is the standard bike or a Y-AMT variant.
- Equipment: Compare the actual market-specific specification for suspension, brakes, display, connectivity and rider aids.
- Weight: Keep the market and published unit attached to the number: Yamaha lists 403 lb for the US specification and reports 183 kg for the European model.
- Price: Separate MSRP from destination, dealer charges, taxes and any dated promotion.
