What happened in the C8 Corvette jump?
HotHardware and duPont REGISTRY reported that the Corvette crossed a 110-foot gap. The video source was identified by duPont REGISTRY as Channel 199 on YouTube. The reports describe a staged stunt, not a production Corvette test or an officially verified record.
HotHardware reported that the team calculated a target takeoff speed of about 70 mph, while the car left the ramp at 64 mph. Those are reported figures; the available coverage does not provide complete telemetry to independently establish the jump’s speed or distance.
Which Corvette was used, and who drove it?
Jim York drove a standard C8 Corvette Stingray, according to the reports. It was not the C8 Z06 Pastrana had won in a separate promotion: that prize car was reportedly sold and replaced before the jump. HotHardware places the stunt on Pastrana’s Maryland property.

Why is it called a Dukes of Hazzard-style jump?
The comparison is visual: the Corvette launches over a gap in the kind of dramatic car jump associated with The Dukes of Hazzard. The reporting does not indicate that the stunt was produced for, authorized by, or otherwise officially tied to the show.
