Is the Dodge Hornet cancelled?
Dodge’s current Hornet page says production has been “paused indefinitely” to make room for new additions to the Dodge lineup, and notes that Hornets may remain available at select dealers. That is the manufacturer’s consumer-facing description; it does not give a restart date.
Separately, AutoTrader.ca reported a Stellantis Canada spokesperson saying: “Production of the Dodge Hornet, built in Italy, has ended due to shifts in the policy environment.” That is an attributed comment reported by the publication, not a direct Stellantis press release in the available material. The two descriptions differ in wording—“paused indefinitely” versus “has ended”—so it is most accurate to say the model is not being produced, while Dodge’s page leaves the possibility of future lineup changes open.
Does the under-$30,000 price explain the decision?
No. Dodge’s pricing announcement positioned the 2025 Hornet GT at under $30,000. That supports describing the gasoline GT as an entry-price offering; it does not show that low pricing caused its production to stop. No Hornet-specific margin, manufacturing cost, or financial-loss figure is established in the available sources.

The Hornet range also included the R/T plug-in hybrid, so the GT’s advertised price should not be treated as the price structure or profitability of every Hornet. Dodge describes both GT and R/T as standard all-wheel drive on its current model page.

The policy-environment explanation comes from the Stellantis Canada spokesperson quoted by AutoTrader.ca. The comment identifies a broad change in policy conditions, but does not specify which policy shifts mattered or quantify their effect on the Hornet.

Slow sales and tariffs
MotorTrend reported slow sales and tariffs among the factors surrounding the Hornet’s end. Those are the outlet’s reported factors, not a published, quantified breakdown of the company’s decision. No Hornet-specific sales total is established here.
Stellantis’ wider profitability reset
In a February 6, 2026 corporate announcement, Stellantis described a broad reset involving customer preferences and products that could not achieve profitable scale. CEO Antonio Filosa said the charges “largely reflect the cost of over-estimating the pace of the energy transition that distanced us from many car buyers’ real-world needs, means and desires.” The announcement does not name the Hornet as one of the products being cancelled or connect the reset specifically to its price.

Can you still buy a Hornet or get parts?
Dodge says remaining vehicles may be available at select dealers, so availability depends on local stock. Check with nearby authorized dealers for current inventory rather than assuming a specific trim or model year is still on sale.
For existing owners, Dodge directs customers to Mopar for parts and accessories and to authorized Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram dealers for parts and service. Confirm model year and trim compatibility before ordering. Dodge’s page describes the GT as the fastest Hornet, with an estimated 140-mph top speed, and the R/T as quickest to 60 mph at 5.6 seconds; these are manufacturer claims, not independent test results.
