The Volvo EX60 was unveiled in January 2026, and the reveal-day preview described a three-version electric SUV lineup—not a single model with both 670 hp and 400 miles of range. The 670-hp figure belongs to the P12 AWD, while Volvo’s up-to-400-mile range estimate is preliminary and depends on configuration. The EX60 was also announced with Google Gemini onboard, though Volvo says feature availability can vary by market and some capabilities are planned for later.
What the January 2026 EX60 preview reported
Volvo unveiled the EX60 in Sweden in January 2026. In its reveal-day preview, Engadget reported three powertrains: a rear-wheel-drive P6, an all-wheel-drive P10 and an all-wheel-drive P12. The figures below are reported specifications, not independent test results.

Those ranges differ from the figures on Volvo Cars Ontario’s US-oriented technical page: it lists 307 miles for the P6 and up to 330 miles for the P10 AWD, alongside up to 400 miles for the P12 AWD. The pages therefore should not be combined into one definitive range claim. Check the exact version and source when comparing specifications.
Volvo Cars Ontario lists the same power figures—369 hp, 503 hp and 670 hp—and labels P12 figures preliminary. Its range table also shows the P12 AWD estimate varying by wheel size: up to 400 miles with 20-inch wheels, 390 miles with 21-inch wheels and 375 miles with 22-inch wheels. The page says the P12 powertrain will arrive later.

How to read the 400-mile range estimate
Volvo’s January 15, 2026 announcement described up to 400 miles for an all-wheel-drive EX60 as a preliminary estimate based on Volvo calculations using EPA testing cycles. Volvo said official EPA estimates would come later. This is not a guarantee for every EX60 or a statement of typical real-world driving range.
Volvo notes that actual range varies with configuration, tires, temperature, weather, terrain, driving style and speed. The wheel-size breakdown on Volvo Cars Ontario’s page illustrates one configuration difference: the P12 estimate falls from 400 miles with 20-inch wheels to 375 miles with 22-inch wheels. Confirm the latest official figures for the specific US-market version before treating an estimate as a buying comparison.

Charging figures depend on the version and charger
Volvo’s pre-reveal announcement said the EX60 could add up to 173 miles in ten minutes on a 400 kW fast charger, subject to charging conditions. Volvo Cars Ontario’s technical table separates the claim by version and charger rather than presenting it as a lineup-wide result.

These are conditional figures, not promises of what every driver will add at any fast charger. Charger capability and conditions matter, and the listed times and added range differ by variant. Use the relevant version’s current charging specifications when planning stops.

What Google Gemini is meant to do in the EX60
Volvo announced Google Gemini as the EX60’s conversational AI assistant. The manufacturer’s examples include asking it to find a hotel booking address in email, checking whether a recent purchase will fit in the trunk, or brainstorming a road trip. Volvo says Gemini is designed to handle natural, multi-turn requests without requiring drivers to memorize specific commands. Availability can differ by market.
Volvo also described HuginCore as the EX60’s electrical architecture, including its core computer, zone controllers and software, with technology from Google, NVIDIA and Qualcomm. The car is planned to receive over-the-air software updates.

Not every described capability should be assumed to be available from launch. Volvo said it expects to add camera-aware Gemini capabilities over time, so that is a future direction rather than a confirmed launch feature. In Volvo’s words, Chief Engineering and Technology Officer Anders Bell said, “The new EX60 is full of human-centric technology designed to enhance your life behind the wheel.” That is the company’s characterization, not an independent assessment of the system.

The clearest distinctions in the published figures are drivetrain, power, estimated range and charging claim. For a specific purchase, compare like with like and check local specifications because the cited technical page is Volvo Cars Ontario’s US-oriented retailer information, while Volvo’s estimates and availability may change.

- Drive and power: P6 is rear-wheel drive; P10 and P12 are AWD. The 670-hp figure applies to the P12 AWD, not the whole lineup.
- Range and wheels: Match the stated range to the version and, for P12, wheel size. Treat preliminary estimates as estimates rather than guaranteed driving distance.
- Charging: Compare the variant-specific charger and charging figures, and remember that a charger’s stated power does not guarantee that rate throughout a session.
- Equipment, price and availability: The cited sources do not establish a complete, current comparison of local prices or equipment. Verify those details with Volvo for your market.
- Gemini features: Check which functions are enabled in your market and on the vehicle you are considering; Volvo described some camera-aware functions as expected future additions.
For general home charging, the EX60’s published material does not require or recommend a particular Level 2 charger. Any home unit should be checked for vehicle compatibility and suitable installation.
