Volkswagen unveiled the second-generation T-Roc on 27 August 2025, with a longer body, a larger boot, updated driver-assistance technology and two 48-volt mild-hybrid petrol engines announced for its European launch. The company said first-country presales would begin at the end of August and the market launch was scheduled for November; later, in November, Volkswagen reported that presales had started and dealer arrivals would follow. Current availability depends on the country.
What changed in the new T-Roc?
The redesigned T-Roc keeps its place as a five-seat compact crossover between the smaller T-Cross and larger Tiguan. Volkswagen says it is based on the MQB evo platform and brings technology from larger models, alongside a revised exterior and cockpit. The first T-Roc went on sale in 2017; Volkswagen reported that more than two million had been built by November 2025. The company also called it Europe’s best-selling SUV in 2025, a manufacturer claim rather than an independently verified sales ranking. Volkswagen’s August 2025 reveal and its November 2025 media-drive announcement describe the launch and positioning.
How large is it, and how much luggage fits?
The new model measures 4,373 mm long—122 mm more than its predecessor—and has a 2,631 mm wheelbase, up 28 mm. Volkswagen says the added length is intended to improve rear-passenger space. Width is 1,828 mm excluding mirrors, and height is 1,562 mm.
| Specification | Second-generation T-Roc | Change reported by Volkswagen |
|---|---|---|
| Length | 4,373 mm | 122 mm longer |
| Wheelbase | 2,631 mm | 28 mm longer |
| Boot volume | 475 litres | 30 litres more |
| Maximum luggage volume | 1,350 litres to the first row of seats | Not stated |
Volkswagen’s dimensions page gives the exterior measurements and standard boot comparison; its fact sheet specifies the 1,350-litre figure with the load area extended to the first row. The company also reports a drag coefficient from 0.29, which it describes as a 10 percent improvement over the previous model. These are manufacturer specifications and claims. What assistance and cockpit technology does it add?
Volkswagen highlights updated Travel Assist and Park Assist Pro, but equipment varies by trim and market. Travel Assist can support automatic lane changes and respond to speed-limit changes. Park Assist Pro offers a memory function for trained parking manoeuvres and smartphone-assisted manoeuvring into or out of parking spaces. Volkswagen also describes next-generation infotainment and cockpit systems, with a head-up display available as an option. Confirm the equipment list for the specific local version rather than assuming every feature is standard. Volkswagen Group’s launch material and the Volkswagen Newsroom announcement describe these systems.
When can buyers order it, and what does it cost?
At the August 2025 unveiling, Volkswagen said presales would start at the end of August in the first European countries, with a November market launch planned. In its November media-drive release, it said presales had started in Europe and dealer arrivals would follow. Those dated company announcements do not establish current stock or order status in every country.

What Volkswagen says about the new generation
