Volkswagen says German pre-sales begin October 7, 2026. Volkswagen France’s October 7 announcement gives October 8 as the French order date. These are separate market announcements, so buyers should check the relevant national Volkswagen site for local availability and terms.

The German and French range claims are different market-specific figures; they should not be combined into a single promise for every version. Volkswagen’s May 2026 world-premiere release had described a provisional maximum range of 424 km. The October German pre-sale announcement is newer and gives up to 431 km for Germany.

Which equipment is standard and which is optional?
Volkswagen highlights a front differential lock, adaptive DCC suspension, 19-inch alloy wheels, IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights, premium sports seats, a 10.25-inch digital cockpit and a 12.9-inch infotainment screen. The announcement also lists these options:

- Electrically adjustable 12-way front seats with massage

- A specially developed 19-inch premium sports tyre

Availability and final equipment can vary by market and configuration; check the regional order information for the version being offered.

What is confirmed—and what is not?
Volkswagen describes the ID. Polo GTI as its first all-electric model to carry the GTI badge. The October announcements establish European pre-order timing and prices, alongside the manufacturer’s stated performance, range, charging and equipment figures. They do not establish a U.S. release or price, and the reviewed material does not include independent driving-test results.
