A video titled “Insane VinFast VF8 Powertrain Tuning – Creep Torque” appears to show a VF 8 moving forcefully on a slick incline, but the available listing does not establish that the vehicle reached measured “full throttle” or explain why it moved. VinFast’s owner’s manual is clear about the safety question: creep mode is not a hill-hold feature. Keep the brake pressed to stay stationary.
What does creep mode do in the VF 8?
VinFast’s condensed VF 8 owner’s manual for model years 2022–2025 describes creep mode as allowing the vehicle to move slowly in the selected direction without accelerator input. The manual says the feature can be useful in low-speed stop-and-go traffic or parking lots. It gives this menu path to toggle the feature: Settings > Vehicle > Driving > Creep mode. Read the VF 8 owner’s manual.

The manual also notes that if adaptive cruise control is canceled with the brake while creep mode is enabled, creep mode is temporarily deactivated. Pressing the accelerator once reactivates it.
Should you rely on creep mode to hold a VF 8 on a hill?
No. VinFast warns: “Do not rely on creep mode to prevent your vehicle from rolling down a hill.” It instructs drivers to keep a foot firmly on the brake to remain stationary, or use the accelerator to ascend. That is the manual’s guidance; it does not describe how creep mode or traction control behaves on a slick incline.

- What it supports: the footage appears to show a VF 8 moving on a slick hill while the subject is creep torque.
- What it does not establish: a measured full-throttle state, wheel torque, accelerator input, or the vehicle’s control-system response.
- Conditions not established by the listing and manual: the vehicle’s model year, software build, tires, slope, and settings.
“Full throttle” should therefore be treated as the video title’s characterization, not a verified measurement. The cause remains unresolved, and no incident-specific VinFast statement, investigation result, recall, or corrective action was established in the available sources. Find the video listing.
