Vertical Aerospace’s Valo is a planned electric vertical take-off and landing aircraft, but current company materials do not describe it as a three-person aircraft. They specify a four-passenger design, with up to six passengers possible in a future configuration. The company’s performance figures are design targets, and the aircraft is still in development.
How many passengers can Valo carry?
Vertical Aerospace’s investor overview and FY2025 annual report describe Valo as designed for four passengers. The annual report says a future configuration could carry up to six. Neither source establishes a separate three-person Valo, so the “3 people” figure in the headline is not supported by the company’s current published specifications. Valo was previously known as VX4.

What are Valo’s range and speed?
Vertical lists a range of up to 100 miles and a cruise speed of 150 mph. These are manufacturer-stated design targets, not independently verified results from passenger service. The company describes the all-electric version as having zero operating emissions; that is also a company claim about the planned aircraft, not a measured in-service outcome.

What does the aircraft look like and how does it fly?
The annual report describes an architecture with four tilting propellers at the front and four stowable propellers at the rear. The front propellers provide vertical lift for take-off and landing, then tilt to support forward flight; the aircraft transitions to wingborne flight. This differs from a conventional car or road vehicle: Valo is an aircraft under development, and “eVTOL” means electric vertical take-off and landing.
Has Valo flown, and is it certified?
Vertical reported that a piloted aircraft completed a two-way transition flight on 14 April 2026. Transition is the change from vertical-lift flight to wingborne forward flight. The company’s annual report characterizes transition as the final phase of piloted flight testing and the flight mode intended for passenger service. The milestone is not type certification and does not mean Valo is carrying passengers commercially.
Vertical has targeted type certification of the all-electric aircraft in 2028. That date is a company target, not an achieved approval. The company also explains that type certification alone does not authorize every individual aircraft to operate: each aircraft needs airworthiness approval. - DETAILED TWIN-SPOOL ARCHITECTURE: This 1:10 scale model recreates the layered structure of an aerospace turbofan engine, including a single-stage fan, two-stage low-pressure compressor, four-stage high-pressure compressor, single-stage high-pressure turbine, and two-stage low-pressure turbine.
- PRECISION METAL CRAFTSMANSHIP: Made from precision-cast and CNC-machined metal components, the model features sandblasted and anodized surfaces for durability, refined texture, and a professional industrial finish. Its substantial construction highlights the complexity of modern turbofan engineering.
- MOTORIZED AND FULLY VISIBLE: The cutaway engine casing reveals the internal rotating assemblies as the motor simulates coordinated turbofan operation. A fixed display stand, throttle control lever, and engine sound module create a more engaging mechanical demonstration.
- 1000+ PART ASSEMBLY PROJECT: Build the engine from more than 1,000 components, including screws and nuts. Tools and an English instruction manual are included. The manufacturer estimates approximately 10 hours of assembly time. The multi-stage process is intended for experienced model builders familiar with small components and detailed mechanical assembly.
- IMPRESSIVE ENGINEERING DISPLAY: Measuring approximately 14.96 × 6.50 × 9.25 inches and weighing about 11.68 pounds when completed, the DM119 becomes a commanding mechanical centerpiece for a home, office, studio, workshop, or aviation-themed collection.
Who is Valo intended for?
Vertical identifies airlines, leasing companies, business aviation, tourism groups, mobility platforms and helicopter operators as potential customer categories. These are intended markets, not evidence of active Valo routes, a bookable passenger service or confirmed commercial operations.
