Why this isn’t a verified list of ten
The title’s “10” and “only buy with a manual” are not claims the available evidence can support as facts. The documented examples below establish a current manual V-8 sedan and a handful of historical candidates. They do not establish ten distinct qualifying models, and the manual-sedan list published by the cited source includes cars with inline-five, four-cylinder, and V-6 engines—not just V-8s.
“Only buy with a manual” therefore works as an enthusiast’s preference, not a universal performance rule. A manual can make the driver more involved without making the car faster. The examples below are a grounded shortlist, not a ranking or an exhaustive ten-car list.

2026 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing
Cadillac lists the CT5-V Blackwing with a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 producing 668 hp and 659 lb-ft of torque, rear-wheel drive, and a six-speed manual; a 10-speed automatic is also available. Cadillac’s 2026 specifications establish the factory configuration. MotorTrend reports that its manual example reached 60 mph in 3.6 seconds. MotorTrend’s acceleration report is a test result, not a guarantee for every car or condition.

What to check before buying a used manual V-8 sedan
For discontinued models, the deciding question is not just whether manuals existed; it is whether the car in front of you is the right factory configuration and has been maintained well. The sources here do not establish reliability rankings or the condition of individual cars.
- Confirm the build. Match the VIN and build information to the model year, trim, engine, and factory transmission. Do not assume a manual-equipped example is original rather than a conversion.
- Review service history. Look for records that document maintenance and repairs. A transmission label or seller description cannot substitute for a history of the specific car.
- Assess the individual car. Have its condition evaluated before purchase; a model’s reputation or specification does not establish the health of a particular used example.

So the honest answer is a shortlist, not ten verified commandments. The CT5-V Blackwing is the clearest current example, while the CTS-V, G8 GXP, Chevrolet SS, and E39 540i are historical candidates whose exact configuration should be checked before purchase.
