In a protest video reported in May 2025, WWII veteran Ken Turner, then described as 98, drove a Sherman tank over a Tesla. Latin Times attributed the video to British activist group Led By Donkeys and said Turner was protesting Elon Musk’s political influence and reported support for far-right groups in Europe. The account is secondary reporting: the original video was not independently reviewed here.
What happened in the tank-over-Tesla protest?
Latin Times reported that Turner drove a Sherman tank over a Tesla in a video organized by Led By Donkeys. The report, published May 8, 2025, identified the vehicle as a Sherman but did not establish a particular Sherman variant. It called the car a Tesla without identifying its model. Latin Times’ report
The report describes the stunt as a protest against Musk’s political influence and his reported support for far-right political groups in Europe. Those are the stated grounds for Turner’s protest, not independently established findings in the available account.
What did Ken Turner say?
Latin Times attributed this line to Turner in the video: “We’ve crushed fascism before and we’ll crush it again.” Because the original video was not available for independent review, the quotation is reported by Latin Times rather than independently checked against the audio.
#1 Best Overall
- Slide molded turret and upper hull parts give an unbeatable combination of hassle-free assembly and highly realistic detail levels. Cast metal turret and welded hull surface textures are rendered accurately.
- The rear showcases sharp, detailed molding on engine grilles and exhausts, as well as the numerous accessories depicted by the kit.
- Clear parts are used to recreate light lens and cupola vision block parts, further upping the realism of this kit.
- The single-pin T66 tracks are recreated with minimum fuss and great accuracy, by the included belt-type tracks. Drive sprockets feature fine holes.
- A commander figure in realistic pose is provided for the cupola. The periscope seen on the hatch underside is depicted using separate parts.
The report also attributed this explanation to Turner: “The richest man in the world is using his immense power to support the far-right in Europe, and his money comes from Tesla cars.” It presents his argument for targeting Tesla as a way to challenge Musk’s influence.
Who organized the video?
Latin Times attributed the video to Led By Donkeys, a British political campaigning group. The group’s original post or video was not recovered, so the attribution rests on that report. The available evidence does not establish whether other protest groups took part in this particular stunt.

How does the stunt fit into UK protests against Musk and Tesla?
Separate demonstrations and boycott activity were being reported in the UK before Turner’s stunt. The Independent reported on March 18, 2025, on groups protesting Musk and Tesla, including a London group that called for a boycott and said it wanted to “tank Tesla’s stock.” That coverage provides context for the wider protest climate, but does not link those groups to the tank video. The Independent’s report
BBC coverage of Tesla Takedown demonstrations described a separate campaign and quoted a participant saying it hoped to discourage Tesla purchases and reduce Musk’s influence. That campaign should not be treated as the organizer of Turner’s video. BBC coverage
