What is the TVS Jupiter CNG?
TVS Motor Company presented the Jupiter CNG at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 as a concept. The company describes it as a bi-fuel scooter, allowing riders to switch between petrol and compressed natural gas (CNG). TVS’s January 17, 2025 announcement introduces the vehicle in a section labeled “Concept,” rather than announcing a production model.
Does it travel 140 miles on CNG alone?
No. TVS’s stated figure is an extended range of 226 km, approximately 140 miles, for the bi-fuel concept. It describes combined petrol-and-CNG range, not distance on one CNG fill. TVS presents this as a product claim; the announcement does not provide an independent road-test result or testing conditions.
New Atlas separately reports a CNG economy claim of 84 km/kg for the concept, along with a 1.4 kg CNG cylinder and a 2-litre petrol tank. These are secondary-reported details, not verified production specifications. The reported under-seat cylinder occupies the space used for storage on the conventional Jupiter, a packaging trade-off for carrying CNG. New Atlas’s January 19, 2025 report provides those figures.

What does TVS claim about running cost?
TVS says the concept’s running cost is below ₹1 per kilometre. The announcement does not give the calculation method or fuel-price assumptions, so this should be read as a manufacturer claim—not a guaranteed cost for riders or a figure that can be relied on across locations and changing petrol and CNG prices.
Can you buy the TVS Jupiter CNG?
Production and retail availability are not confirmed by the official materials reviewed. TVS’s January 2025 release identifies it as a concept. The company’s FY 2025–26 key-events summary does not list a Jupiter CNG production launch. That omission does not establish that the project was cancelled; it means a launch or current retail availability cannot be confirmed from those sources.

For now, the 140-mile figure describes an announced concept’s combined-range claim, not a purchasable scooter with a proven real-world range. Riders considering a future CNG scooter would also need to weigh local CNG refuelling access and the reported loss of under-seat storage against the potential to switch fuels.
