The Tufport Overlander is a complete slide-in truck camper built around a one-piece composite shell, with three interior layouts developed with Wasatch Overland. Tufport’s current product page lists starting weights of 750–900 lb and displayed prices of CAD $37,490–$52,450. The “seaworthy” description needs a qualification: the reported flotation demonstration involved a different Tufport product, an Adventure canopy—not a completed Overlander tested or certified as a boat.
What is the Tufport Overlander?
Made by Tufport, a manufacturer based in Delta, British Columbia, the Overlander is a slide-in camper, not just an empty pickup canopy. It pairs Tufport’s one-piece composite fiberglass shell with interior layouts developed with Utah-based Wasatch Overland. Tufport says the shell uses a proprietary version of SpaceAge Synthetics Thermo-Lite Board and a variety of cores, and contains no wood. These are the manufacturer’s descriptions of its construction.
When Tufport announced the camper in December 2023, company president Jeff Engelland said the design applied the company’s experience to a new camper. The current product page describes the shell as having “no seams to leak.” That is a manufacturer claim, not a published independent leak test. Tufport’s company background is at Tufport’s history page.
How much does a Tufport Overlander cost?
Tufport’s undated product page, accessed October 4, 2026, displays the following prices in Canadian dollars. Treat them as listed prices, not confirmed final quotes: the page does not establish a delivery timeline, stock level, deposit policy or the total price of a particular build.

The brochure is marked 2025, while the product page may change; brochure equipment should be treated as a stated specification to verify on the final build sheet. The two 900 lb layouts have different cooling and galley configurations, while Ultra-Light has the lowest listed starting weight and price. A starting weight is not the final travel-ready weight: options and personal gear add to it.
What trucks does the Tufport Overlander fit?
Tufport pitches the camper for mid-size pickups with a 6-foot box and full-size pickups with a 6.5-foot box. The product page lists an interior height of 64.5 inches and interior width of 72 inches. Those broad box categories do not guarantee fit on every truck. Before ordering, have Tufport confirm compatibility with the exact make, model, year and bed configuration, and check your truck’s payload against the camper’s final installed weight plus occupants, options, water and gear.

What is the difference between Sea to Sky, Coast to Coast and Ultra-Light?
Sea to Sky
Sea to Sky combines convertible seating and a galley with a listed Redarc electrical system. Tufport identifies a Dometic 45L chest fridge/freezer as optional rather than standard on the current page. The brochure marked 2025 adds the 100W solar panel, 2000W/200Ah Redarc system, sink, faucet, water capacity, fan and lights to its specification.
Coast to Coast
Coast to Coast is the layout with a built-in 12V fridge-freezer: Tufport names an Indel B 86L unit. It also lists a Redarc system, galley and storage. Its brochure specification includes a 100W panel, 2000W/200Ah Redarc system, water capacity, fan and lights.

Ultra-Light
Ultra-Light is the least expensive and lightest starting configuration in Tufport’s current listing. Its product-page equipment includes R22 insulation, a Maxxair fan, interior lights, a power bank that can be upgraded, and a driver-side wraparound MOLLE panel. The 2025-marked brochure lists an EcoFlow solar generator and 100W panel.
Equipment can differ between the page, brochure and an individual build. Ask for a written build sheet that specifies what is included, what is optional and the weight of the configuration being quoted.

Is the Tufport Overlander really leakproof?
The available product information supports describing the shell as one-piece and composite, and reporting Tufport’s claim that it has no seams to leak. It does not establish that the completed Overlander is leakproof under independent testing. Tufport also uses all-season and all-terrain positioning; those terms should not be mistaken for a published performance rating.
Likewise, Tufport’s claims that the low profile is intended to reduce wind resistance and lower the center of gravity, and that its vortex-generating edges are intended to improve fuel efficiency, are design claims. The sources do not provide independent aerodynamic or fuel-economy test results.

What does “seaworthy” mean in the Tufport camper story?
New Atlas reported in February 2024 that Tufport had flipped an earlier Adventure canopy over and floated it as a demonstration of the one-piece design’s water resistance. That report concerns an Adventure canopy. It is not evidence that the full Overlander was floated, tested as a boat, certified for marine use or independently tested for water ingress. “Seaworthy” in the headline refers to that reported demonstration and should not be read as a rating for the Overlander.
What warranty and buying details should you check?
Tufport’s current product page lists a one-year warranty for the fiberglass body and hardware. It expressly excludes interior finishings installed by Wasatch Overland. Ask the seller to clarify coverage for the specific interior components and options in your build.
- Request a current quote and the exact build sheet, including selected layout, standard equipment, options and final installed weight.
- Confirm truck-bed compatibility and payload with the seller for your specific vehicle, then account for passengers, water and trip gear.
- Verify the included electrical, solar, refrigeration, water and ventilation equipment against the quote rather than relying only on a layout name or brochure.
- Review the written warranty terms, particularly the exclusion for Wasatch Overland interior finishings.
Start with Tufport’s current Overlander page. The original announcement is available in Tufport’s December 2023 press release, and the equipment reference is the Overlander brochure marked 2025. The “seaworthy” report is in New Atlas’s February 14, 2024 preview.
