Triumph’s MY2027 Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition is a limited-run version of the Speed Twin 1200 RS, styled with clip-on handlebars, a brown bullet seat and a dedicated green-and-silver finish. Triumph says production will be capped at 800 motorcycles worldwide, each with a Certificate of Authenticity. The edition was announced on 27 January 2026; its price and delivery dates vary by market.
What is the Speed Twin 1200 Cafe Racer Edition?
Triumph describes the new model as an homage to British cafe racers of the 1960s. It is based on the Speed Twin 1200 RS, with factory-fitted styling changes that give it a more focused cafe-racer appearance. The manufacturer says only 800 will be produced worldwide. Each motorcycle will come with a Certificate of Authenticity. That is a stated production limit, not a count of units currently available from dealers.
How it differs from the Speed Twin 1200 RS
The Cafe Racer Edition uses the RS as its base and adds a distinct equipment and appearance package. Triumph Japan lists the following changes:

- Clip-on handlebars: replace the standard handlebar setup with a lower, more tucked-in cockpit layout.
- Brown bullet seat and removable cowl: create a single-seat profile; the cowl can be removed.
- Bar-end mirrors: complete the cafe-racer styling.

The clip-ons and single-seat profile suggest a more forward-leaning riding position and a stronger solo-riding emphasis than the standard setup. That is an inference from the published layout, not a finding from a road test. The included passenger pegs offer a way to restore passenger capability, though the seat and cowl arrangement should be checked with a dealer before planning regular two-up use.

Japan price and announced delivery timing
Triumph Japan lists a recommended retail price of ¥2,519,000 including tax. This is the Japan-market price; it should not be treated as a global price. The company said dealer reservations in Japan opened on 27 January 2026 and expected deliveries to begin from mid-February 2026.

Triumph’s global announcement instead says dealership availability from March 2026. These are region-specific launch estimates, not evidence of current stock or a universal delivery date. Buyers should ask an authorized Triumph dealer in their country about local pricing, allocation and delivery timing.
Is it worth comparing with the RS or standard Speed Twin 1200?
The Cafe Racer Edition’s clearest distinction is its factory-fitted styling package and limited production, rather than a wholly separate platform: Triumph says it is based on the RS. The available announcements do not provide a full, current, market-by-market price and specification matrix for the Cafe Racer Edition, RS and standard Speed Twin 1200. For an accurate local comparison, confirm these points with a dealer:

- Whether the edition is allocated to that dealer and the expected delivery date.
- How the clip-ons and seat configuration suit your riding position and passenger needs.
- Which suspension, brakes and styling equipment are standard on the local RS and standard model.
- Whether the limited-edition certificate and specific finish matter to you enough to justify any price difference.
