Its announcement gave no fixed price: Toyota directed buyers to contact a dealership. CarWale reported in January 2026 that the edition had been discontinued, but current local stock and transaction prices are not established.
Was the Fortuner Leader Edition launched in 2026 for Rs 36.51 lakh?
No. Toyota Kirloskar Motor’s release, dated 8 October 2025, announced a 2025 Fortuner Leader Edition. It did not publish a price; Toyota said to contact the nearest dealership. The available evidence does not establish Rs 36.51 lakh as an official price for this edition.

Toyota’s 8 October 2025 announcement is the source for the launch details and pricing instruction. An earlier report on the 2024 edition also described pricing as dependent on dealer-fitted accessories rather than one published official figure: CarWale’s 2024 report.
Is the Leader Edition available in 2026?
CarWale reported on 9 January 2026 that Toyota had discontinued the Leader Edition during a Fortuner price revision. That is secondary reporting; it does not establish that every dealer has sold its remaining stock. Ask a local Toyota dealer whether a specific vehicle is available and request a written, itemized quote before treating any price as current.

What should a buyer check with a dealer?
Because the published announcement does not set a price and later discontinuation is reported rather than confirmed for every outlet, check the exact vehicle rather than relying on the headline figure.

- Request an itemized written quote that separates the vehicle price, dealer-fitted accessories, taxes and other charges. Toyota’s launch release directed customers to dealerships for pricing.
- Verify that the listed edition equipment is fitted to that vehicle, especially any dealer-installed styling additions, and ask for documentation.
- Confirm warranty and roadside-assistance terms applicable to that specific vehicle and purchase date.
Toyota’s October 2025 announcement stated a standard warranty of three years or 100,000 km, extendable up to five years or 220,000 km, and five years of complimentary roadside assistance. It also mentioned finance plans and a customizable Toyota Smiles Plus service package. These are terms stated in the dated launch announcement, not a guarantee of what applies to a particular unsold vehicle; confirm them with the dealer.

The announced Leader Edition configuration was limited to a 2.8-litre diesel 4×2, with manual or automatic transmission. The available sources do not provide a complete current, trim-by-trim comparison, so they cannot establish which present Fortuner version offers better equipment or value. For a practical comparison, ask the dealer for current configurations and quotes, then compare transmission preference, fitted equipment and the final itemized price.
