The right SUV air mattress depends first on whether it fits your vehicle’s usable sleeping space, and only second on brand or price. The four models below have manufacturer-published dimensions, pump arrangements and prices that you can check against your own vehicle and a live listing. None of them has been slept on, inflated or durability-tested for this article, so the comparison is based on specifications, fit and included accessories, not on comfort or longevity. Rather than fill a fifth slot with names whose current specifications and availability we could not confirm, this guide covers four models.
How this comparison is built
Each model is judged on the same five points: how well its inflated footprint suits common SUV cargo layouts, how it is powered, its height and construction, what is in the box, and its listed price and stock status. Those points are the ones a manufacturer’s page can actually establish. Claims such as “comfortable” or “ultra-durable” appear on these pages as marketing language. They are reported here only as the manufacturer’s wording, not as measured performance.
Measure your sleeping space before you compare models
An SUV is not a single footprint. A mattress that is comfortable in a full-size body-on-frame SUV can be too long or too wide for a compact crossover, and the narrowest point of the opening often matters more than the middle of the cargo floor. Work through these steps before choosing:
- Fold the rear seats into the exact configuration you will sleep in, and note whether any seat stays upright or any headrest must be removed.
- Measure the flat cargo length from the back of the front seats to the rear hatch glass, measured along the floor at the level of the seat cushions.
- Measure the narrowest width, usually at the hatch opening or between the wheel wells, and then the widest usable width in the middle of the cargo area.
- Note any step, slope or lip in the floor, and any trim or cargo cover that will sit under the mattress.
- Compare these figures with the mattress’s inflated length and width, not its packed size. Allow room for the mattress to sit flat without pressing against trim. An inflatable cannot be relied on to shrink into a tighter opening.
- If the manufacturer publishes a vehicle-specific fit list, confirm your model year and seat-row configuration against it. A third-row layout can change the usable cargo area.

Luno AIR Pro Vehicle Mattress
Luno publishes a vehicle compatibility guide with four size groups: compact and mid-size vehicles at 74 × 50.75 inches, full-size vehicles at 80 × 53 inches, 4Runner and Defender at 67 × 56 inches, and Wrangler and Bronco at 74 × 53 inches. Its included items are a 12V pump, a carrying case, a repair patch and a three-year warranty, and the page states a two-person capacity. The page showed a price of $349.99 when accessed on October 8, 2026. Some head-support bridge attachments are excluded for certain vehicles, and the compatibility list names specific makes, models and years, so check your exact model year and configuration against the live guide before ordering.

BougeRV SUV Air Mattress Camping Bed with Electric Pump
BougeRV sells three sizes: Small at 67 × 54 × 6.5 inches, Medium at 74 × 57 × 6.5 inches and Large at 80 × 57 × 6.5 inches. The included electric pump has both a wall plug and a cigarette-lighter adapter, so it can be run from a household outlet at home or from the vehicle’s 12V socket on the road. The page describes use in SUV trunks, with folded rear seats and in flat cargo areas, and states two-person capacity. Prices differ by size variant and can change, so check the live selection before quoting a figure.

Costway uses five separately inflatable compartments, a flocked top surface and PVC construction, with an electric pump and a carry bag. The listed footprint is 74.5 × 50.5 × 4.5 inches, and the page lists a 660 lb weight capacity. The page showed a price of $25.99 but was marked “Out of stock” when accessed on October 8, 2026. Treat it as a candidate to check, not as a model you can buy now.

Pump options and what they mean on a trip
The pump often decides whether an air mattress is practical, so match it to where you will actually be parked.
- 12V pump (Luno): runs from the vehicle’s power socket, which means the engine or accessory power has to be on while inflating. It is convenient at a trailhead but needs the car running or an accessory-mode socket.
- Wall-plus-12V electric pump (BougeRV): runs from a household outlet before the trip or from the cigarette-lighter socket on the road, which gives you two options.
- Rechargeable cordless pump (Ayamaya): works without a power source at the campsite, but the battery has to be charged before you leave.
- Electric pump (Costway): the page does not state the power source, so confirm it before buying.
A pump included with one mattress does not mean it will work with another, so check the valve type if you plan to use a separate pump.

What the specifications cannot tell you
- Comfort: no comparative sleep testing is established for these four models. Height and chamber count describe the object, not how it feels after a night of sleep.
- Air retention: none of the sources reviewed establishes how much air each mattress loses overnight or in cold weather.
- Insulation: an air mattress is not a sleeping pad with a thermal rating. Its effect on ground or cargo-floor cold is not established by these listings.
- Durability and repairs: only Luno lists a repair patch as included. Whether a generic patch works on each material is not established, and the pages do not say how each model holds up to repeated use.
For these questions, look for independent reviews published after a model’s current version was released, and read the manufacturer’s warranty terms in full before relying on them.

Choosing by use case
- You want a fit confirmed for a named vehicle group: Luno’s vehicle-group sizes are the most explicitly tied to specific vehicles, so start there, then check your model year.
- You want to choose a size from one brand: BougeRV’s three footprints let you match a compact, mid-size or large cargo floor without changing brands.
- You may not have vehicle power at the campsite: the Ayamaya rechargeable pump removes the need for a socket, as long as you charge it first.
- You want the lowest listed price and can accept a possible stock shortage: the Costway listing is the lowest price shown, but it was out of stock when accessed, so verify availability before relying on it.
Whichever model you choose, the measurement steps above matter more than the ranking. A mattress that is a few inches too wide for your hatch opening will not be comfortable, however well it is priced.
