Mercedes-Benz has no official “top five supercars” ranking. Using road-going performance, motorsport connection, rarity evidence and technical ambition as the criteria, these five models make a strong case: the Mercedes-AMG ONE, CLK-GTR, SLR McLaren, SLS AMG and AMG GT Black Series. The order is an editorial judgment, not a manufacturer ranking.
How this top five is ranked
“Supercar” has no single formal definition in the Mercedes-Benz material cited here. This list uses it for road-going Mercedes-Benz or Mercedes-AMG models at the marque’s extreme end of performance, rarity or direct motorsport connection. The comparison considers racing lineage, published performance figures where available, engineering, rarity evidence and whether each car leans toward road use or the track. The sources provide uneven data across different eras, so the figures below are manufacturer-published specifications, not an independent, like-for-like test.
1. Mercedes-AMG ONE
A road-legal car built around Formula 1 technology
The AMG ONE leads because its brief is unusually direct: Mercedes-AMG describes it as a road-legal racing car inspired by Formula 1. Its manufacturer-published figures are a regulated maximum speed of 352 km/h, 0–100 km/h in 2.9 seconds and 0–200 km/h in 7.0 seconds. These are Mercedes-AMG specifications, not independently measured comparisons with the other cars on this list. Mercedes-AMG ONE specifications and description.
That combination of road legality and explicit Formula 1 inspiration puts the ONE at the top for motorsport-derived ambition and published performance. Mercedes-Benz’s heritage account also places it at the end of a race-track-to-road story that begins with the CLK-GTR. Mercedes-Benz on the CLK-GTR-to-AMG ONE lineage.

2. Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR
The clearest race-to-road connection
The CLK-GTR earns its place through lineage rather than a complete set of comparable road-car statistics. Mercedes-Benz explicitly frames its history as a path “from the race track to the road,” connecting the CLK-GTR with the AMG ONE. That makes it the most compelling choice here for readers who put competition roots ahead of modern performance figures. Mercedes-Benz heritage history.
The cited material does not establish a road-car production total, so an exact scarcity claim would go beyond what these sources support. Nor does it provide a matching set of road-car acceleration and top-speed figures for comparison with the AMG ONE or GT Black Series.

3. Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren
A supercar with grand-touring character
The SLR McLaren occupies a different corner of the category: a high-performance grand tourer rather than a car defined solely by track focus. Mercedes-Benz reports a 5.5-litre supercharged V8, carbon-fibre construction and a maximum speed of up to 334 km/h. The manufacturer also states that 2,157 units were produced over a seven-year run. Mercedes-Benz Magazine’s 2023 SLR McLaren feature.
Those figures make the SLR the strongest pick on this list for a blend of long-distance purpose, distinctive engineering and documented production rarity. 4. Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG
An in-house AMG icon with gullwing doors
The SLS AMG stands out for its gullwing doors, aluminium spaceframe and entirely in-house AMG development. Mercedes-Benz describes it as a motorsport-derived “super sports car,” and lists its production period as 2010–2014. Mercedes-Benz Group vehicle-icon history.
Its place below the SLR is not a claim that one is objectively faster or better: the available sources do not provide a consistent set of figures for ranking them head to head. The SLS ranks here for its engineering and design identity, while readers who prize iconic styling above grand-touring character could reasonably put it higher.

5. Mercedes-AMG GT Black Series
The track-focused extreme of the GT family
The GT Black Series is the list’s clearest modern track-focused choice. Mercedes-Benz Media’s 2020 launch specifications give it 537 kW (730 PS), 800 Nm, 0–100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and a maximum speed of 325 km/h. These are launch-model manufacturer figures. Mercedes-Benz Media GT Black Series launch release.
Mercedes-AMG executive Jochen Hermann called it the “absolute pinnacle” of the GT family in wording translated by Mercedes-Benz Media from the German source. That description captures its role as the family’s extreme, rather than making a claim that it outranks every other Mercedes supercar in every measure. Its published figures are useful context, but they should not be treated as a direct test against cars from different eras.
