The Koenigsegg Gemera leads a July 19, 2025 duPont Registry ranking of production cars, with a reported 2,300 hp. The Rimac Nevera R and Aspark Owl follow at 2,107 hp and 1,984 hp. These are figures from that dated ranking—not a verified October 2026 leaderboard: published lists differ on eligibility and some power ratings, and do not apply one consistent test for production status or system output.
The top 10 in the July 2025 ranking
The table reproduces the order and horsepower figures in Khris Bharath’s duPont Registry News ranking, published July 19, 2025. The source includes announced, limited-run and future-delivery models. Its figures are not normalized across manufacturers: in particular, it does not establish a single method for comparing combined output from electric motors and combustion engines.
| Rank | Car | Horsepower in the July 19, 2025 ranking | Powertrain and production detail reported in that ranking |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Koenigsegg Gemera | 2,300 hp | Hybrid V8 with three electric motors; a planned 300-car run. |
| 2 | Rimac Nevera R | 2,107 hp | Four-motor electric hypercar; the ranking describes production limited to 40 examples. |
| 3 | Aspark Owl | 1,984 hp | Four-motor electric car; the ranking gives a 50-unit production figure. |
| 4 | Lotus Evija | 1,972 hp | Four-motor electric hypercar; 130 examples were slated for production. |
| 5 | Pininfarina B95 | 1,877 hp | Open-top, four-motor electric hypercar; the ranking says ten examples. Its heading and specification table give 1,877 hp, while one descriptive passage gives 1,874 hp; this table uses the heading and table figure. |
| 6 | Pininfarina Battista | 1,877 hp | Four-motor electric GT; the ranking describes production capped at 150 examples. |
| 7 | Hennessey Venom F5 | 1,817 hp | Twin-turbo V8. The ranking also discusses coupe, roadster and F5 Evo production; its variant details do not support treating all those figures as one interchangeable configuration. |
| 8 | Bugatti Tourbillon | 1,800 hp | Naturally aspirated V16 with three electric motors. The 2025 ranking forecast first deliveries for 2026; that forecast alone does not establish whether deliveries had begun by October 2026. |
| 9 | Koenigsegg CC850 | 1,385 hp on E85 | Twin-turbo V8. The ranking separately lists 1,185 hp on standard fuel, so the higher figure depends on the specified fuel. |
| 10 | Czinger 21C Blackbird Edition | 1,350 hp | Hybrid V8 and electric motors; the ranking says four Blackbird examples were planned within an 80-car 21C run. |
All horsepower figures, powertrain descriptions and run sizes in this table are those reported by duPont Registry News on July 19, 2025; they are not independent confirmations of delivered cars or standardized manufacturer tests.
Why there is no single settled 2026 top ten here
A production-car power-output reference list accessed October 8, 2026 uses different entries and figures: it lists the 2026 Gemera at 2,300 hp, the Nevera R at 2,079 hp, the Lotus Evija at 2,012 hp and the Hennessey Venom F5 with an Evolution-package maximum of 2,032 hp. That list frames eligibility around road use, production and street legality, and includes cars rated at or above 600 kW. It is a secondary compiled reference, not confirmation that every car is orderable or delivered, and it does not make the July 2025 ranking directly comparable to its own table.

To call any list the current “top ten,” its author needs to state a cutoff rule and apply it consistently. Relevant distinctions include whether a car must be street-legal in a named market, orderable, in production or customer-delivered; whether future limited runs qualify; which exact model year and variant counts; and whether the horsepower is engine-only or combined system output. The available rankings do not establish one harmonized October 2026 rule across every candidate.
What the horsepower figures mean
For a conventional combustion car, a quoted figure may refer to the engine. For a hybrid or battery-electric car, the headline figure may represent combined system output, but the rankings above do not establish a common calculation method for every model. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s 2025 EPA Automotive Trends Report: Fuel Economy, and Technology since 1975, published in February 2026, cautions that horsepower assessment can be more complicated for battery-electric vehicles with multiple motors and for plug-in hybrids with engines, motors and control strategies. It says horsepower values for the growing number of BEVs and PHEVs may carry higher uncertainty.

That is why a high number is most useful when read alongside the exact variant, powertrain and rating basis. Fuel also matters: the July 2025 ranking gives the CC850’s 1,385 hp on E85 and lists a different 1,185 hp figure on standard fuel. For the B95, the same ranking itself gives two different figures in different passages, so its 1,877 hp entry reflects the heading and specification table rather than a resolved independent measurement.
Useful manufacturer comparisons outside the top ten
Manufacturer releases offer model-specific comparison points, but neither of the following claims establishes a position in a global ranking.
Rank #3
- Realistic Replica: This 1:36 scale die-cast metal model car is a detailed miniature replica of the iconic McLaren 720s supercar.
- Opening Doors: The model features opening doors that allow you to admire the intricate interior detailing.
- Pull-Back Action: Engaging the pull-back mechanism enables this toy car to zip across smooth surfaces.
- Vibrant Color: Showcasing a rich white hue, this miniature captures the sleek and stylish design of the full-size McLaren.
- Compact Size: Measuring approximately 5 inches in length, this model is perfectly sized for display or playtime.
- 2026 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1X: General Motors reported 1,250 hp of total system output: 1,064 hp from its twin-turbo V8 plus 186 hp from the front electric drive unit. In its June 17, 2025 announcement, GM identified the vehicle shown as preproduction and said the actual production model may vary.
- 2026 Porsche 911 Turbo S: Porsche’s September 7, 2025 release rates it at 701 hp (523 kW) of system output and calls it the most powerful production 911 to date. That is a claim about the 911 model line, not a global top-ten claim.
How the EPA figures fit in
The EPA report published in February 2026 gives a fleet-context average of 258 hp for an individual model-year 2024 vehicle and a maximum of 1,600 hp for an individual vehicle in its dataset. Those statistics describe the report’s dataset; they are not a worldwide production-car average or maximum, and should not be compared as if they were entries in the hypercar ranking.
