A 26-year-old motorcyclist was found unresponsive on Thomas Road in Oakford at about 3:10 a.m. on Monday, September 22, 2025, and police said he had died before officers arrived. Major Crash investigators examined the scene. The reports available do not establish how the crash happened or identify the rider.
What happened on Thomas Road?
The West Australian reported that the rider was found lying unresponsive on Thomas Road in Oakford at about 3:10 a.m. Police said he had died before officers arrived. A separate report by 91.7 The Wave placed the reported crash near Hopkinson Road and gave the same approximate time.
Major Crash investigators examined the scene and looked into the circumstances. The West Australian reported that Thomas Road was closed between Tonkin Highway and Hopkinson Road after the crash. That was a closure at the time of the incident, not an update on current traffic conditions.
What is known about the investigation?
The reports do not name the motorcyclist, describe a collision sequence, explain what caused the crash or give a final investigative finding. They also do not establish whether another vehicle was involved. No details about speed, road conditions, helmet use, impairment or fault were reported.

The reporting does not say whether police or coronial authorities later released further findings.
Police appeal for information and footage
Police appealed for information and asked anyone with relevant CCTV, dash-cam or mobile-phone footage to provide it to police. The West Australian reported that information could also be given to Crime Stoppers. A police spokeswoman urged motorists to drive safely and consider the wellbeing of themselves and others.
