The best-supported tour is therefore a history of notable cars associated with his collection—not a verified inventory of what is in his garage today.
A recent one-off: the 911 Classic Club Coupe
The clearest recent snapshot of a car in Seinfeld’s hands comes from Porsche. On June 2, 2023, the company reported that he had personally taken possession of the one-off 911 Classic Club Coupe, a Sonderwunsch project developed by Porsche Classic and the Porsche Club of America.
The car starts with a 1998 911 Carrera, but its chassis, brakes and engine come from a 996.2 GT3. Porsche specifies a naturally aspirated 3.6-liter flat-six producing 381 horsepower. It is a bespoke blend of classic 911 styling and later-generation hardware, rather than a standard production model.
Race cars and prototypes recorded in the 2016 consignment
In February 2016, Gooding & Company published a complete list of 17 vehicles consigned from Seinfeld’s collection. That is a dated record of cars sent to auction, not a statement of his current holdings. The list shows the range of machinery associated with the collection, from purpose-built racers to road-going Porsches and a Volkswagen camper.
#1 Best Overall
Porsche 917/30 Can-Am Spyder, 1973
The 917/30 was among the headline competition cars in Gooding’s list. Its place in a collection alongside road cars illustrates the breadth of Seinfeld’s documented interests: the cars were not limited to familiar production 911s.
Porsche 718 RSK, 1959
The 718 RSK was another of the 2016 consignments. Gooding’s record identifies it as part of the group offered from Seinfeld’s collection, making it a documented example of the collection’s sports-racing lineage.
Rank #2
Porsche 962C, 1990
The 962C added a later era of endurance racing to the consignment. Together with the 917/30 and 718 RSK, it makes the 2016 list especially notable for its competition-car representation.
Seinfeld described that group at the time as “a pinnacle of mechanical culture,” adding that many were “the best examples that exist in the world.” The comment refers to the vehicles being consigned then, not to an independently verified ranking of every car he has owned. Gooding’s complete 2016 consignment list also included Speedsters and a 1964 Volkswagen Camper.

The 908/03 he called his most treasured car
In a 2018 interview with Porsche’s Christophorus, Seinfeld answered a question about his most treasured possession by naming “The 1970 Targa Florio-winning Porsche 908/03 chassis number 008.” It is a striking statement about his priorities: a historically significant racing Porsche, rather than a road-going showpiece, was his answer at that time. The dated interview does not establish whether he still owns the car.
In the same interview, he described the 911 as “A true sports car. Intelligent, complete engineering, and brilliant design language.” That helps explain why so many of the best-documented cars associated with him are Porsches, without implying that the available records are a complete ownership ledger.
Road-going icons and former Seinfeld Speedsters
Gooding’s 2016 consignment included road-going cars as well as racers, among them Porsche Speedsters. Separate RM Sotheby’s catalog records document two Speedsters as former Seinfeld cars and provide specific historical sale results. Those prices belong to individual auctions; they are not estimates of current value.
1994 Porsche 911 Speedster
RM Sotheby’s records a 1994 911 Speedster originally owned by Seinfeld that sold for $511,000. Its catalog says 469 examples were built for the US market in 1994, with 37 finished in special-order Maritime Blue. These production figures provide context for the car’s specification, but do not by themselves establish a definitive rarity ranking.

1989 Porsche 911 Speedster
A separate RM Sotheby’s record states that a 1989 911 Speedster previously owned by Seinfeld sold for $307,500. The catalog says that particular car left his collection in 2000 and reports total 1989 Speedster production of 2,065 cars.

What the documented cars can—and cannot—tell you
These records support a portrait of a collection that has included rare road cars, one-off projects and historically important racers. They do not establish a current complete inventory, how many Porsches Seinfeld owns today, a single objectively “rarest” car, or the collection’s present value. For the Speedsters, the auction figures are documented historical results, not current appraisals.
The evidence also has different meanings depending on its date and source: Porsche’s 2023 announcement reports possession of the Classic Club Coupe; the 2018 interview records Seinfeld’s answer at that time; Gooding’s 2016 list documents consignments; and RM Sotheby’s catalogs describe former ownership and specific sales. Keeping those categories separate is the most reliable way to look inside a collection that remains private.
