Other vehicles reported in connection with the King include official cars and cars associated with the wider Royal Family—not necessarily his personal property.
What cars does King Charles own?
No official, complete list of King Charles’s privately owned cars has been identified. It is more accurate to describe a royal “garage” as a mix of vehicles with different roles: a car strongly associated with Charles personally, vehicles reported as part of his fleet, and cars used for official duties or managed by the Royal Mews.
The distinction matters. A car used by the King, a state vehicle, or a car displayed at a royal site cannot automatically be counted as his personal property.
The best-documented personal car: Aston Martin DB6 Volante
Aston Martin says Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Philip bought the then-Prince of Wales a Seychelles Blue Aston Martin DB6 Volante Series II in 1969. The company also attributes to Charles the words, “It is one of the great cars. I adore the design and the lines. They are special.” The manufacturer’s page does not provide the original interview context for that quotation. Aston Martin’s account of its royal connection is the clearest source for the car’s provenance.

Wedding-day appearance
Aston Martin says the DB6 was used at Prince William and Catherine’s 2011 wedding. That documented public appearance helped make the car the most recognizable vehicle linked personally to Charles.
E85 conversion
Aston Martin says the car was converted to run on E85 bioethanol, describing the change as part of Charles’s sustainability commitment. The company’s page gives no lifecycle calculation or emissions figure, so the conversion should not be treated as a quantified reduction in environmental impact.

Other cars reported in connection with Charles
Countryfile’s 2026 overview of the royal car fleet associates a Jaguar I-Pace and a Jaguar XJ with Charles. These are examples reported by that publication, not confirmation of a complete or current private inventory. The distinction between personal and official use remains important when reading fleet coverage. Countryfile’s overview of the royal car fleet and state vehicles provides the examples.
Royal vehicles and the Royal Mews
The Royal Mews arranges road travel for the King and members of the Royal Family. Its visitor information also says visitors can see cars used by the Royal Family. That makes the Mews a useful place to encounter royal vehicles, but its role and visitor displays do not establish that every vehicle there belongs privately to Charles. Check the Royal Collection Trust’s Royal Mews visitor information for current access details.

How much is King Charles’s car collection worth?
There is no official current valuation in the sources cited here. Two published estimates use different dates and scopes, so they should be kept separate rather than combined.

What the public record can—and cannot—show
The DB6 has the strongest directly attributable personal provenance in the available accounts. Fleet reporting adds examples such as the Jaguar I-Pace and XJ, while the Royal Mews offers a view of vehicles used for royal travel. Those sources describe different kinds of connection; they do not add up to an authoritative inventory of Charles’s private garage.
