The Telluride redesign Kia expected to reach U.S. showrooms in 2026 arrived as the 2027 Kia Telluride, not a 2026 model. Kia projected a first-quarter 2026 showroom arrival in its 2025 announcement; by March 10, 2026, it said the new Telluride was on sale and hybrid arrivals had begun. Kia now lists the gas model from $39,190 and the hybrid from $46,490, before destination and other charges.
Why the 2026 date and 2027 model year are both correct
“2026” refers to the calendar year Kia expected the redesigned SUV to arrive, not its U.S. model-year designation. Kia introduced the second-generation Telluride as a 2027 model and initially projected U.S. showroom availability in the first quarter of 2026. That was an expected launch window, not a guarantee that every dealer would have inventory then.
By March 10, 2026, Kia said the 2027 Telluride was on sale and that hybrid vehicles had started arriving in showrooms. Kia’s initial timing and its later availability update are described in its announcement.
What Kia lists for the 2027 Telluride
Kia’s current U.S. model page lists two powertrain choices. The figures below are manufacturer specifications and estimates, not independent test results.

Prices and specifications are listed by Kia America. The hybrid’s 35 mpg figure applies specifically to the EX with front-wheel drive; it should not be treated as the rating for every hybrid trim. Kia says the gas Telluride can tow up to 500 lb more than the hybrid, while the hybrid’s published figures emphasize fuel economy and total range. Which trade-off matters more depends on your towing requirements and driving pattern.
Where the new Telluride is built
Kia’s reveal announcement said the redesigned Telluride would be assembled at the company’s West Point, Georgia, plant. The announcement is available from Kia Media.

What to check before buying
- Confirm local inventory and arrival timing with a dealer; Kia’s launch window did not mean every location had vehicles at once.
- Compare the exact trim and drivetrain when evaluating hybrid fuel economy, since the cited 35 mpg combined estimate is for EX FWD.
- Ask for the complete transaction price. Kia’s starting MSRP excludes destination and handling and does not include taxes, title, license, options, or dealer charges; dealer prices may vary.
- Match the powertrain to your needs: Kia lists a higher maximum towing capacity for the gas model and a specific EPA-estimated fuel-economy figure and total-range claim for the hybrid.
