Mansory is a bespoke luxury-vehicle conversion company based in Brand, Germany—not a mass-market automaker. It reworks high-end cars through body and aerodynamic changes, wheels, performance enhancements and custom interiors. Its defining combination is engineering and hand-finished personalization expressed through styling that many people find deliberately conspicuous. That visual identity helps explain both the ridicule and the appeal, but neither online criticism nor a striking car proves how well the company sells.
Who is Mansory?
Mansory identifies Kourosh Mansory as its founder and CEO. The company says it began in 1989; the legal imprint for MANSORY Design & Holding GmbH lists 1990 as the entity’s incorporation date. Those dates describe different milestones, not competing founding claims. The company’s current headquarters is in Brand, Germany. Mansory’s company page presents its mission as going beyond tuning to create unique works that defy convention; that is brand language, not an independent assessment.
The business has roots in serving owners of high-end British and Italian cars who wanted a more individual version of a vehicle they already owned. A 2008 WELT profile described work around marques including Ferrari, Bentley, Rolls-Royce and Aston Martin. It offers historical context, not a current account of Mansory’s customers, prices or production.
What does Mansory do to a car?
Mansory’s offer is broader than fitting a body kit. The company describes a customization process that starts with consultation and client choices about materials, finishes and features, then may extend across exterior, cabin and performance. These are the company’s descriptions of its services; they do not establish independent assessments of build quality or real-world results.

- Interior: Custom cabin work and accessories allow a vehicle’s materials and details to be specified to the client.
The company also lists armouring, aviation cabin interiors and marine projects alongside automotive work. A substantial reworking is often described as a conversion, while customization can refer to the broader process of tailoring a vehicle to a client’s choices.
How does Mansory make one-off conversions?
One example is the company’s 2023 retrospective, which described Urus- and G-Class-based coupe projects as “One of One,” meaning each configuration was built once. The same retrospective presented a Ferrari SF90-based F9XX and a Mercedes-AMG S 63 E PERFORMANCE conversion as hybrid projects. These are company-reported examples, not independently verified specifications or evidence that every announced project entered production as described.

The retrospective also announced plans for electric and hybrid conversions in 2024. Those statements show the direction Mansory said it intended to take at the time; they do not confirm that every planned model launched on schedule. The examples and plans appear in Mansory’s “Empower future” retrospective.
Why are Mansory designs so polarizing?
Mansory’s visual language is difficult to mistake for factory restraint: its conversions can emphasize bold bodywork, distinctive details and a highly personalized cabin. For some observers, that is excessive; for a buyer who wants a car to stand apart, being immediately recognizable may be the point.

In an August 2025 feature, Autoblog argued that conspicuous styling, exclusivity and the desire to be noticed help account for Mansory’s appeal despite public mockery. That is an editorial explanation of buyer motivation, not a survey of owners or a measurement of sales. A 2025 Frankenpost headline similarly posed the question of who buys expensive, high-powered conversions; a headline frames a topic but does not establish market demand.
The tension is part of the brand’s identity. In a 2008 WELT interview, Kourosh Mansory said, “Irgendwie sind ja all unsere Autos ein bisschen verrückt”—“Somehow all our cars are a little crazy.” The remark captures an embrace of unconventionality at that time, rather than serving as a current mission statement.

What the available numbers do—and do not—show
Mansory’s current company page reports more than 200 employees. That is a company-reported figure, not an independently audited count. Its imprint’s ±5% qualification applies to average performance-kit output figures; it is not a promise that a particular converted vehicle will achieve a given result.
The available sources do not establish independent figures for Mansory sales, revenue, customer numbers or measured public opinion. As a result, it is possible to explain the company’s services and why its styling attracts sharply different reactions, but not to quantify how many people dislike its cars or how successfully each conversion sells.
