A $69,995 figure reported by Axios was described as hypothetical, while an AP/Edmunds preview estimated $65,000. Neither is a confirmed price. The truck is a useful case study in what electrified pickup capability might cost, but it cannot yet prove that pickup prices overall are rising.
What the Ramcharger is—and why its price matters
Stellantis announced the Ram 1500 Ramcharger in November 2023 as an electric-drive pickup with a 92-kWh battery and an onboard 130-kW generator powered by a 3.6-liter V6. The V6 supplies the generator; it does not mechanically drive the wheels. Stellantis also described vehicle-to-home and vehicle-to-vehicle bidirectional charging. Stellantis’s launch announcement presented the vehicle as a way to pair electric propulsion with a gasoline-powered source of additional energy.
That combination makes the Ramcharger relevant to pickup pricing: it adds electric-drive hardware and a generator system to a full-size truck. If it ultimately costs substantially more than a conventional Ram 1500, the difference could illustrate what buyers might pay for electric capability and range flexibility. But that remains a conditional inference, not proof of a market-wide price trend.
What price has Ram announced?
No official Ram MSRP for the range-extended pickup is established by the available official model and build pages or the cited reporting. The figures circulating are a manufacturer’s current gas-truck price anchor and two non-final Ramcharger figures:

The gap between the Express MSRP and the two Ramcharger figures suggests a possible premium, but does not establish the final premium. Trim, equipment, destination charges, incentives, dealer discounts, and timing can all change the comparison. An estimated starting price should not be compared directly with a negotiated transaction price for a differently equipped gas truck.
What the announced specifications do—and don’t—tell us
Stellantis’s November 2023 announcement gave the Ramcharger targets of up to 690 miles of total range, 663 horsepower, 615 lb-ft of torque, a 0–60 mph time of 4.4 seconds, up to 14,000 pounds of towing capacity, and up to 2,625 pounds of payload. The company also said 400-volt DC fast charging at up to 145 kW could add up to 50 miles of electric range in approximately 10 minutes. In that same announcement, then-Ram brand CEO Tim Kuniskis called it “a beast of a light duty” and cited “zero need for a public charger.” That was launch-era manufacturer messaging, not independent validation; the release’s specific acceleration target was 4.4 seconds, while his remark rounded it to “4-second.”
Why the truck’s timing and name remain relevant
On December 18, 2024, Stellantis said it would bring the range-extended truck to market ahead of the battery-electric Ram 1500 REV and expected US orders in the first half of 2025. That was a dated forecast, not confirmation that orders subsequently opened. Stellantis’s December 2024 announcement

An AP preview using Edmunds material refers to the range-extended truck as the 2026 Ram 1500 REV, formerly called Ramcharger, and says it is expected in 2026. The current official Ram model and build pages reviewed for this article do not establish its present order status or MSRP. The launch schedule, model name, and availability should therefore be treated as unresolved unless Ram confirms them in a current announcement.

The Ramcharger could show that a new electrified powertrain creates a higher-priced tier within the full-size pickup market. That is different from showing that pickup prices generally are increasing. The cited information does not establish a final Ramcharger MSRP, final equipment, real-world performance, or a market-wide price trend.

- Powertrain: distinguish conventional gas, range-extended electric, and battery-only electric models.
- Capability: compare towing and payload while identifying manufacturer targets separately from tested results.
- Range and energy use: account for electric-only range, total range, access to charging, and gasoline use.
- Equipment and fees: match trims and options, and treat destination charges and incentives consistently.
