How much horsepower does the 2027 Ram 1500 TRX have?
Stellantis rates the 2027 Ram 1500 SRT TRX at 777 hp and 680 lb-ft from a supercharged 6.2-liter HEMI V8. Ram describes that as 75 hp more than the prior 702-hp TRX; Stellantis also says torque is up 40 lb-ft compared with the 2024 model. Stellantis claims 0–60 mph in 3.5 seconds and a top speed of 118 mph. The announcement does not identify an independent test or provide test conditions for those figures, so they should be read as company claims rather than verified real-world results.
What is new about the TRX’s performance hardware?
The announced powertrain pairs the V8 with a TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic and full-time active four-wheel drive. Ram’s stated chassis figures include second-generation Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive shocks, 11.8 inches of ground clearance, 13 inches of front suspension travel and 14 inches at the rear. Ram lists Sport, Snow, Mud/Sand, Rock, Baja, Custom, Tow, Auto and Valet drive modes. The combination points to a truck intended for both high-speed off-road use and everyday driving, but published specifications alone do not establish how it performs in either setting.
What are the TRX’s payload and towing ratings?
Ram lists maximum payload of 1,220 pounds and maximum towing capacity of 8,100 pounds. The cited performance page does not explain how those maximums vary by configuration, so buyers should confirm the rating for the specific truck and equipment they are considering rather than assume every TRX reaches both figures. When will the new Ram TRX be available?
Stellantis announced the 2027 model on Jan. 1, 2026, and gives its expected arrival as the second half of 2026. Stellantis executive Tim Kuniskis framed the return as more than a nameplate revival, saying the company wanted to exceed the previous TRX’s 702-hp benchmark: “SRT doesn’t limbo; it high-jump—and 721 wasn’t going to cut it. 777 horsepower? The release also claims a 57-hp and 40-lb-ft advantage over the “next nearest competitor” but does not identify that competitor in the comparison passage. Without a named vehicle and matching test basis, that claim should not be treated as a fully specified head-to-head result.
