That list needs two timing qualifications. The S60 was a final-run car available mainly from remaining 2025-model-year inventory, while the Chevrolet Malibu technically qualified for buyers who found leftover new 2025 inventory—even though General Motors ended Malibu production in November 2024. The 2025 Dodge Charger does not qualify because it was assembled in Canada, not the United States.
This is a manufacturing-location list, not a list of cars made entirely from American parts. Here, American-made means final assembly in the United States for the U.S. market. Parts, batteries, engines, transmissions, and other components can still come from the United States, Canada, or other countries.
The short answer: every U.S.-assembled sedan available in 2025
The table below separates regularly offered 2025 models from the final-run Volvo S60. Assembly and content information comes primarily from the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration’s 2025 American Automobile Labeling Act data, supplemented by manufacturer information.

| Model | U.S. assembly location | Powertrain | 2025 status |
|---|---|---|---|
| Acura TLX | United States; verify the individual vehicle label | Gasoline | Regular 2025 offering; final cycle for the current generation |
| Cadillac CT4 | Lansing Grand River Assembly, Michigan | Gasoline | Active |
| Cadillac CT5 | Lansing Grand River Assembly, Michigan | Gasoline | Active |
| Honda Accord | United States; confirm the plant on the vehicle’s label | Gasoline or hybrid | Active |
| Lexus ES | Georgetown, Kentucky | Gasoline or hybrid | Active |
| Lucid Air | Casa Grande, Arizona, for U.S.-market production | Battery electric | Active |
| Nissan Altima | United States | Gasoline | Active 2025 listing |
| Tesla Model 3 | Fremont, California | Battery electric | Active |
| Tesla Model S | Fremont, California | Battery electric | Available, but with limited and less predictable production |
| Toyota Camry | Georgetown, Kentucky | Hybrid only | Active |
| Volvo S60 | Ridgeville, South Carolina | Gasoline or plug-in hybrid | Final-run inventory in 2025 |
These are not all American-branded cars. Cadillac, Tesla, and Lucid are American brands or companies, but Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Lexus, Acura, and Volvo are not. Their sedans still qualify under the more useful assembly-location definition.
What “American-made” means in this list
Modern vehicles are globally sourced products. A car can be assembled in Kentucky or Michigan while using a foreign-built engine, transmission, battery cell, electronics module, or other component. Conversely, an American-brand vehicle can be assembled in Canada, Mexico, Germany, or another country.
For that reason, this article uses the following standard:
American-made means final assembly in the United States for the U.S. market. It does not mean that every part or every dollar of the vehicle’s value originated domestically.

The AALA data is useful because it separates several different facts that are often blurred together:
- Final assembly country
- U.S./Canadian parts-content percentage
- Countries supplying major parts
- Engine origin
- Transmission origin
A stated content percentage is also configuration-specific. For example, the 2025 Tesla Model 3 entries show roughly 70% to 75% U.S./Canadian content depending on configuration, while the Model S entry shows 65%. That does not mean 70% or 65% of the entire car was made in the United States; it is AALA content information and includes Canada.
Best U.S.-assembled mainstream sedans
2025 Toyota Camry
The redesigned 2025 Toyota Camry was built at Toyota Motor Manufacturing Kentucky in Georgetown. It also became hybrid-only, eliminating the conventional gasoline Camry from the 2025 lineup.
- Power: 225 net combined horsepower with front-wheel drive and 232 horsepower with available all-wheel drive.
- Efficiency: Toyota estimated up to 51 mpg combined for the front-wheel-drive LE.
- Launch price: Toyota announced a $28,400 starting MSRP before dealer processing and handling fees. Toyota’s later consumer-facing page showed a $28,700 starting figure, so the price must be treated as date-sensitive.
The Camry is the clearest choice for a buyer who wants U.S. assembly, a conventional four-door body, strong fuel economy, and the lower operating complexity of a hybrid rather than a full battery-electric car. The trade-off is that there was no gasoline-only 2025 version, and pricing and equipment could change during the model year. Toyota’s Kentucky production announcement and 2025 launch information document the change.
2025 Honda Accord
Honda has built the Accord in the United States since 1982, and the 2025 Accord’s AALA entries identify U.S. final assembly. Honda’s model information confirms two distinct powertrain choices:
- Gasoline models: 192-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder.
- Hybrid models: 204-horsepower hybrid powertrain.
- Published starting MSRP: $28,295 on Honda’s 2025 model information.
The Accord remains a sensible choice for buyers who want a roomier, more traditional midsize sedan and do not necessarily want a hybrid. The hybrid versions offer the better efficiency story, but they cost substantially more than the base gasoline car. Parts content and engine or transmission origin can vary by configuration.

One claim to avoid is that all 2025 Accord production had already moved from Ohio to Indiana. The available 2025 AALA information establishes U.S. final assembly, but the most reliable way to identify the plant for a particular car is the vehicle’s own Monroney label and VIN information. See Honda’s 2025 Accord page and the Accord specifications page.
2025 Nissan Altima
The Nissan Altima is another important omission from short lists that confuse an American brand with an American-built car. Nissan’s 2025 AALA entry identifies U.S. final assembly and 50% U.S./Canadian content for the listed configuration.
The Tool Desk
Outbyte PC Repair FREERepair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsFix Now →Outbyte Driver Updater FREEScan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minuteDriver Scan →The Altima was a gasoline-powered midsize sedan rather than a hybrid or EV. Its strengths were familiar sedan packaging, a broad dealer network, and conventional fueling. Its weaknesses were an aging platform and interior and technology that were less competitive with newer Accord and Camry versions. Content and component sourcing should not be assumed to be identical across every trim.
Nissan’s U.S. assembly information is available through the company’s U.S. operations material, while the vehicle-specific assembly and content data is in the NHTSA 2025 AALA file.
U.S.-assembled luxury sedans
2025 Acura TLX
The Acura TLX was assembled in the United States and appeared in the 2025 AALA data. It was also the final model year for the current generation, making it a legitimate 2025 choice but not the safest bet for someone seeking a long production future.
- Starting price: Acura’s 2025 fact sheet listed $45,400 for the front-wheel-drive TLX.
- Performance version: The TLX Type S used a 355-horsepower turbocharged V6 and all-wheel drive.
The TLX offered more performance and a more upscale experience than a mainstream Accord or Camry, but its rear seat was tight, its infotainment system was aging, and its price rose quickly with equipment. Buyers considering one should confirm the specific vehicle’s assembly information rather than assuming all TLX configurations have identical sourcing. Acura’s 2025 TLX fact sheet provides the model-year specifications.
2025 Cadillac CT4
The compact Cadillac CT4 was assembled at GM’s Lansing Grand River Assembly facility in Michigan. The 2025 AALA listing identifies it as a passenger car with 37% U.S./Canadian content.
- Base engine: 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder producing 237 horsepower.
- Performance models: CT4-V and the 472-horsepower CT4-V Blackwing.
The CT4 was the least expensive traditionally American-branded gasoline sedan in this group, although its exact 2025 transaction price depended on trim, options, destination, and dealer pricing. Its main compromises were a cramped rear seat, a small trunk, and an interior that felt older than those in some newer luxury competitors. The AALA file is the best source for its assembly and content classification.
2025 Cadillac CT5
The midsize Cadillac CT5 was also assembled at Lansing Grand River in Michigan. It is a midsize sedan, not a full-size sedan. Its 2025 AALA entry listed 37% U.S./Canadian content and U.S. final assembly.
- Base engine: 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder with 237 horsepower.
- Available V6: 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 producing 335 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque.
- CT5-V Blackwing: 668 horsepower, with a manual transmission still available.
The CT5 makes the most sense for someone who specifically wants an American-branded luxury sedan, rear-drive-oriented performance, or— in Blackwing form—one of the few new manual-transmission sedans. The base engine was adequate rather than exceptional, while the Blackwing became very expensive once equipped. Cadillac’s CT5 production announcement and Blackwing announcement identify the Lansing production connection.

2025 Lexus ES
The Lexus ES was a Japanese-brand sedan assembled at Toyota’s Georgetown, Kentucky operation. The AALA entries show 50% U.S./Canadian content for the ES 250 and ES 350 configurations and 45% for the ES 300h hybrid.
The ES prioritized a quiet, comfortable ride rather than aggressive handling. That made it a good fit for a buyer who wanted a polished luxury sedan with U.S. final assembly, but its older platform and option-driven pricing reduced its value against newer alternatives. The Toyota Kentucky facility information and AALA data establish the relevant manufacturing details.
2025 Volvo S60: a final-run exception
The Volvo S60 belongs on a calendar-year 2025 shopping list, but it should not be described as a sedan entering a normal, full 2025 production cycle. Volvo ended regular U.S. production in June 2024 at its Ridgeville, South Carolina plant. However, 2025-model-year S60s were still produced as part of the final run and remained available through retailers during 2025.
A 2025 S60 T8 plug-in hybrid vehicle label showed:
- MSRP: $57,400 before the applicable destination and other charges shown on the label.
- Power: 455 combined horsepower.
- Electric range: Up to 41 miles.
- Assembly: U.S. production information associated with the South Carolina-built run.
The S60 made sense only if a buyer could find the desired trim and accepted its limited availability, aging platform, and older infotainment system. It is a useful example of why “available to buy in 2025” and “currently in regular production” are not interchangeable. Contemporary production reporting, Volvo’s S60 model page, and the vehicle label support the final-run qualification.

2025 Tesla Model 3
The Tesla Model 3 was built at Tesla’s Fremont, California facility. Tesla’s manufacturing information and 2025 SEC filing identify Fremont as an active Model 3 production site, and the 2025 AALA entries show U.S. final assembly with approximately 70% to 75% U.S./Canadian content depending on configuration.
The Model 3 was available in rear-wheel-drive, Long Range, and Performance versions. Its advantages included efficient electric operation, strong performance in higher trims, and access to Tesla’s charging ecosystem. Its drawbacks included highly touchscreen-dependent controls, Tesla’s variable pricing, and the absence of a traditional dealer network. Model 3 specifications and content can differ by battery, drivetrain, and production configuration.

2025 Tesla Model S
The Model S was a large electric liftback commonly classified as a sedan. It was built at Fremont, California, and the 2025 AALA listing showed U.S. final assembly and 65% U.S./Canadian content.

Available versions included the dual-motor Model S and Model S Plaid. The Model S remained extraordinarily quick and offered substantial cargo flexibility, but it was expensive and based on an older architecture than the Model 3. The yoke-style steering wheel and minimalist controls were polarizing, and production and ordering availability were less predictable than for the Model 3. Tesla’s 2025 SEC filing still listed Model S production at Fremont, which is why it remains in the 2025 list rather than being treated as an inventory-only car.
2025 Lucid Air
The full-size Lucid Air was assembled at Lucid’s Advanced Manufacturing Plant-1 in Casa Grande, Arizona, for U.S.-market production. Lucid also operated semi-knocked-down assembly in Saudi Arabia, so it would be inaccurate to imply that every Air sold worldwide was assembled in Arizona.

The Air’s major strengths were efficiency, range, interior space, and high-end performance. Its ownership compromises were a smaller service footprint and less established charging and service infrastructure than Tesla’s, along with very high prices for the upper trims. Lucid’s range and pricing announcement and Arizona assembly information provide the manufacturer’s specifications.
American-branded sedans versus U.S.-assembled sedans
If the reader means American-branded rather than assembled in America, the list is much shorter. The defensible 2025 group is:
- Cadillac CT4
- Cadillac CT5
- Tesla Model 3
- Tesla Model S
- Lucid Air
That narrower list is not the same as the U.S.-assembly list. The Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Lexus ES, Acura TLX, and Volvo S60 carry Japanese, Japanese luxury, or Swedish branding but were assembled in the United States for the U.S. market.
The distinction matters in both directions. An American badge does not guarantee American assembly, and a foreign badge does not mean the car was imported.

2025 Chevrolet Malibu: technically available, but inventory-only
The 2025 AALA file lists the Chevrolet Malibu as a passenger car with U.S. final assembly, and 2025-model-year Malibu documentation exists. However, GM ended Malibu production in November 2024. A buyer could still find a new 2025 Malibu on a dealer lot during calendar 2025, but there was no normal ongoing 2025 production program.
Therefore:
Include the Malibu only if “buy in 2025” means any new 2025-model-year inventory. Do not present it as an actively produced 2025 sedan.

Acura Integra: U.S.-assembled, but a liftback
The Acura Integra was built in Ohio and listed by NHTSA as a passenger car with U.S. final assembly. It has five doors and a liftback body, however, rather than the conventional three-box sedan shape most readers expect from this topic.
It is worth mentioning as a technical exception, not adding it to the strict conventional-sedan list. Buyers who prioritize cargo access may reasonably prefer its liftback design to a traditional trunk.
2025 Dodge Charger Daytona: American brand, Canadian assembly
The 2025 Dodge Charger is the most obvious false positive. Dodge is an American brand, and the four-door Charger Daytona was marketed as a performance car, but the 2025 AALA data identifies Canada as its final assembly country.

The Charger’s fastback/liftback body also makes its classification as a conventional sedan debatable. Under a strict U.S.-assembled-sedan definition, it belongs on the excluded list—not among the qualifying vehicles.
How to verify the specific car you are about to buy
A nameplate-level list is a useful starting point, but it cannot replace checking the individual vehicle. Assembly and content can vary by trim, powertrain, plant, and production date.
- Look at the Monroney label. The window sticker identifies the vehicle’s final assembly location and usually displays the applicable parts-content information.
- Record the VIN. Use the VIN when asking the manufacturer or dealer to confirm the vehicle’s build details. Do not assume that every car wearing the same badge has the same sourcing.
- Confirm the model year. A leftover 2025 Malibu or S60 is different from a sedan entering regular 2025 production. Also make sure the dealer is not advertising a previous-model-year car as a 2025.
- Check the exact trim and powertrain. Hybrid, plug-in hybrid, performance, and all-wheel-drive versions may have different engine, battery, transmission, or content origins.
- Separate assembly from parts content. U.S. final assembly is not a claim that the vehicle is wholly domestic. Read the AALA categories separately.
- Compare the complete transaction price. Published MSRP figures can change during the model year and may exclude destination, dealer processing, documentation, registration, and other charges.
- Check service access before choosing an EV. Tesla’s direct-sales and service model and Lucid’s smaller service footprint are materially different from the dealer and service networks available for Honda, Toyota, Nissan, Cadillac, Acura, Lexus, and Volvo.
The 2025 AALA master sheet is valuable for comparing models, but it is not a VIN-level guarantee. The sticker on the exact car remains the practical final check.
Which one makes the most sense?
- Best mainstream hybrid choice: Toyota Camry, if hybrid-only powertrains are acceptable.
- Best mainstream all-rounder with a gasoline option: Honda Accord.
- Most straightforward conventional gasoline alternative: Nissan Altima, although its older design makes careful pricing important.
- Comfort-oriented luxury choice: Lexus ES.
- American-branded luxury choice: Cadillac CT4 or CT5, depending on the desired size and budget.
- High-performance choice: Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, especially for buyers who value its available manual transmission.
- Compact EV choice: Tesla Model 3.
- Long-range luxury EV choice: Lucid Air, provided its service and charging support work for the buyer’s location.
- Final-run bargain-hunt choice: Volvo S60 or Chevrolet Malibu only if a suitable new example can still be found and the buyer accepts limited or discontinued production.
Why the list is so short
U.S. automakers largely moved away from conventional sedans in favor of crossovers, SUVs, pickups, and electric crossovers. The Malibu’s production ended in November 2024, and the Chrysler 300 had already ended after the 2023 model year.

The surviving American-branded sedans were concentrated in luxury and electric segments, while several Japanese and Swedish brands continued using U.S. factories to build sedans for American buyers. That is why a manufacturing-based answer is considerably broader than the commonly repeated six-car list of Cadillac CT4, Cadillac CT5, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model S, Lucid Air, and Dodge Charger.
Sources and date scope
This article is a retrospective snapshot of vehicles that could be purchased new in the United States during calendar year 2025, with distinctions for active model-year offerings, final-run inventory, and leftover model-year stock. Core assembly classifications are based on the 2025 NHTSA AALA data. Manufacturer sources include Toyota, Honda, Tesla, Lucid, Cadillac, and Acura. Prices, range, fuel economy, and output figures are model-year or manufacturer claims and should not be treated as current pricing or a promise that every trim has identical specifications.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the 2025 Dodge Charger made in America?
Not under a U.S.-final-assembly definition. The 2025 Charger was American-branded, but NHTSA’s 2025 AALA data identifies Canada as its final assembly country. Its fastback/liftback body also makes it debatable as a conventional sedan.
Does a Japanese-brand sedan count as American-made?
Yes, if American-made means final assembly in the United States for the U.S. market. The 2025 Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, Nissan Altima, Lexus ES, and Acura TLX qualify under that definition despite their brand origins.
Does U.S. final assembly mean the entire car is made in the United States?
No. A U.S.-assembled vehicle can contain foreign-sourced parts, engines, transmissions, batteries, and other components. AALA content percentages are configuration-specific and combine U.S. and Canadian content; they are not a percentage of the entire car made in America.
Does the Chevrolet Malibu count as a 2025 American-made sedan?
Only as an inventory exception. The 2025 AALA file lists U.S. final assembly and 2025-model-year Malibu documentation exists, but GM ended production in November 2024. It could be purchased new in 2025 only where leftover inventory remained.
The Bottom Line
The complete answer is broader than the usual American-brand list. For 2025, U.S.-assembled sedans included the Acura TLX, Cadillac CT4, Cadillac CT5, Honda Accord, Lexus ES, Lucid Air, Nissan Altima, Tesla Model 3, Tesla Model S, Toyota Camry, and final-run Volvo S60. The Chevrolet Malibu may be added only as leftover inventory. The Dodge Charger should be excluded because it was assembled in Canada. Always verify the individual car’s Monroney label, VIN, trim, and model year before treating it as American-made.
