Honda published the Accord ratings in its 2024 Accord pricing and EPA ratings and the CR-V ratings in its 2024 CR-V pricing and EPA ratings. Honda describes EPA ratings as comparison figures and says actual mileage varies with driving, maintenance, conditions, and—on the CR-V Hybrid—hybrid battery-pack condition.
Why the Accord EX-L is the mileage leader
The EX-L’s rating is trim-specific: its 48 mpg combined estimate exceeds the 44 mpg combined rating for the Accord Sport, Sport-L, and Touring Hybrid trims. So the answer is not simply “any Accord Hybrid”; the EX-L is the most efficient configuration in the 2024 lineup covered here.

Choose a 2WD CR-V Hybrid if you need an SUV and prioritize mpg
The 2WD CR-V Sport and Sport-L are rated at 40 mpg combined, making them the most efficient CR-V Hybrid configurations in this model year. They trade some fuel economy for the SUV body style compared with the Accord EX-L.
Consider AWD for its traction benefits
The AWD CR-V Hybrid trims are rated at 37 mpg combined, three mpg below the 2WD Sport and Sport-L. If AWD is important for your driving needs, compare that benefit with the lower EPA estimate rather than treating the two configurations as equivalent.
