What was the British three-wheeler with an American motorbike engine?
It was the Morgan 3 Wheeler, a British three-wheeled vehicle whose outgoing generation used an S&S V-twin. Morgan’s official past-model page lists the engine as 1,998cc and the gearbox as a Mazda five-speed manual. Morgan described the vehicle as “a rebellion against sanitised, modern motoring”.
S&S Cycle’s X-Wedge manual provides context for the engine family: it says the X-Wedge was primarily designed for custom-built motorcycles with special frames. That describes the family’s intended context, not every detail of how Morgan installed the engine in its vehicle.
What were the Morgan 3 Wheeler’s published specifications?
The figures below are specifications published by Morgan Motor Company for the outgoing model. They are manufacturer figures, not results from an independent road test; Morgan’s model page does not state a publication year for them.

Is the Morgan Super 3 the same car?
No. The Super 3 is a different generation with a different powertrain. Morgan lists a naturally aspirated 1.5-litre Ford three-cylinder engine for the Super 3, not the outgoing 3 Wheeler’s S&S V-twin. Do not apply the older model’s engine or performance figures to the successor.

Morgan’s Super 3 model information identifies its engine. Its question about whether the Super 3 is a motorcycle concerns the successor’s legal classification; it does not change the outgoing model’s listed engine or three-wheel layout.
