A worldwide “last Lexus” claim is less certain: a July 2026 secondary report describes a Japan-market LBX Morizo RR with a six-speed manual.
Which Lexus was the last to offer a manual?
The answer for North America is the 2012 Lexus IS 250 RWD. Lexus Canada’s 2012 model announcement says the rear-wheel-drive IS 250 was available with a six-speed close-ratio manual transmission with overdrive: Lexus Canada’s 2012 announcement.
This was a configuration-specific option. It does not mean every 2012 IS had a manual, or that the IS 350 did. Lexus’s announcement also lists the manual RWD configuration’s combined fuel efficiency as 9.4 L/100 km; that is a manufacturer-published figure, not an independent test result.

Taken together, the manufacturer specifications identify 2012 as the final North American IS model year with a factory manual option. The 2010 IS 250 C convertible had also offered a six-speed manual, alongside an automatic, but it predates the later 2012 sedan option: Lexus’s 2010 IS 250 C announcement.

Does “sequential manual shifting” mean the car had a manual?
No. A conventional manual transmission has a clutch-operated gearbox. Lexus described the European 2013 IS 250’s “6 Super ECT” as a six-speed automatic with sequential manual shifting: Lexus Europe’s 2013 launch announcement. Lexus’s US material for the 2014 IS 250 likewise described an electronically controlled transmission with a sequential manual-shifting mode, and its 2015 release called the IS 250 transmission a six-speed automatic: Lexus USA’s 2014 launch material and Lexus USA’s 2015 release. A driver-selectable shift mode does not turn an automatic into a clutch-operated manual.
Was 2012 the last Lexus with a manual worldwide?
That broader claim is not established. The evidence for 2012 concerns North America, and Lexus configurations can differ by market. A secondary article published in July 2026 reports a six-speed manual for the Japan-market LBX Morizo RR: the July 2026 report. That report is not an official, exhaustive Lexus transmission history, so it does not settle the global chronology or establish present availability.

For a precise answer, use the market qualifier: 2012 IS 250 RWD for North America. Do not treat it as a definitive worldwide cutoff.
