Which Lexus models still have a V8?
Lexus announced the 2026 LC 500 coupe and convertible with a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8. The coupe’s engine is rated at 471 hp and 398 lb.-ft. of torque. The LC 500h is a separate hybrid model; it is not the V8-powered LC 500. Lexus has not announced a final model year for the LC 500 in the releases cited here. Lexus’s 2026 LC announcement lists the coupe’s specifications, and its LC model page lists the convertible as a 2026 model.
What was the last Lexus with a V8?
The answer depends on what “last” means. The latest announced V8 model year among these nameplates is the 2026 LC 500. The RC F has an explicit final year—2025—while the IS 500’s latest announced year is 2025, based on Lexus’s 2025 and 2026 IS releases.

What year was the last Lexus IS 500?
2025 is the latest IS 500 model year found in Lexus’s U.S. announcements. Lexus’s 2025 release announced an IS 500 Ultimate Edition, and its 2026 IS release says the sedan will be offered only as an IS 350, in F SPORT Design and F SPORT grades. That establishes a gap in the announced 2026 lineup, not an explicit Lexus statement that the IS 500 nameplate is permanently discontinued.

The 2025 IS 500’s Ultimate Edition was limited to 500 units for North America; that figure applies to the special edition, not to all 2025 IS 500 production. The IS 500’s 472 hp and 395 lb.-ft. specification was given in Lexus’s 2022 IS 500 launch announcement; Lexus reiterated the same output for the 2023 model in its 2023 IS 500 announcement.
What year was the last Lexus RC F?
2025 was the RC F’s final model year. Unlike the IS 500 case, Lexus explicitly said the RC and RC F would be discontinued at the conclusion of that model year. The 2025 RC F was offered as a mono-spec Final Edition. The announcement describes the RC F as using a naturally aspirated 5.0-liter V8 rated at 472 hp. See Lexus’s 2025 RC and RC F announcement.

A final model year does not mean every example disappeared from dealers immediately. New-car inventory and used-car availability depend on location and change over time; the model-year announcement does not establish what is currently in stock.

These cars are not direct substitutes. The IS 500 is a sport sedan, the RC F was a performance coupe, and the LC 500 is Lexus’s flagship coupe or convertible. Their model-year status and engine ratings provide a useful snapshot, but do not make them equivalent in body style or purpose.

- For a currently announced V8: the 2026 LC 500 coupe or convertible is the one in this group announced for the latest model year.
- For the newest IS 500: look to the 2025 model year; the 2026 IS release covers IS 350 variants only.
- For a V8 with a stated end date: the RC F ended with model year 2025, according to Lexus.
The LC 500 coupe’s output is 471 hp and 398 lb.-ft., while Lexus’s earlier IS 500 and RC F announcements list 472 hp. Those figures come from different model announcements and do not, by themselves, establish which car is quicker or better suited to a particular driver.
