There is no well-documented, current inventory of Angelina Jolie’s cars. The clearest examples are dated reports: Christie’s announced a Ferrari as hers in 2024, BMW said in 2008 that she had “opted for” a Hydrogen 7, and a 2014 magazine list named three other makes. The Land Rover Defender most closely tied to Lara Croft, however, was a film prop—not evidence of a car Jolie owned.
What cars have been associated with Angelina Jolie?
Published accounts point to several cars, but they do not establish a complete or current collection. The strength and meaning of each claim differ: an auction-house description is not the same as an independently resolved ownership record, and a manufacturer saying someone opted for a vehicle does not confirm that person owned it.

| 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Coupé Pininfarina | Christie’s announced on 3 October 2024 that it would offer the car as Jolie’s in a 20 November Paris sale. | An auction-house ownership claim and planned consignment; the later provenance and sale outcome are not established here. |
| BMW Hydrogen 7 | BMW Group said on 28 October 2008 that Jolie had “opted for” one. | A dated manufacturer statement about her selection, not proof of ownership or continued possession. |
| Range Rover, Lexus and convertible BMW | ELLE Australia included those makes or descriptions in a 30 November 2014 list. | Dated entertainment reporting; it gives no specific models and does not document ownership. |
The Ferrari claim: announced by Christie’s, but not a settled result
Christie’s 3 October 2024 press release described a 1958 Ferrari 250 GT Coupé Pininfarina as belonging to Jolie and scheduled it for the auction house’s 20 November 2024 Paris sale. Christie’s put an estimate of €600,000–€800,000 on the car. That was an estimate for the announced sale, not a confirmed transaction price. Read Christie’s announcement.
Christie’s said 353 examples of this model were produced and described the car as the 11th. Those figures are the auction house’s description of the model and consigned example; they should not be mistaken for an independently verified provenance finding. Vogue France’s 3 October 2024 coverage also described the Ferrari as coming from Jolie’s private collection, but it reported the same announced consignment rather than resolving ownership independently.
A 22 November 2024 Corriere di Bologna search-result report said Christie’s withdrew the lot to check provenance and raised questions about whether Jolie had owned it. Because no authoritative final disposition or resolution is established here, the careful conclusion is limited: Christie’s announced the Ferrari as hers, but the later ownership and auction status remain unresolved in the available account. Corriere di Bologna’s report.
Other cars named in older reports
BMW Hydrogen 7
In an October 2008 release, BMW Group listed Jolie among public figures who had “opted for” its hydrogen-powered Hydrogen 7 luxury sedan. The wording supports saying BMW associated her with the model at that time; it does not say she purchased or owned one, or that it remained in her garage. BMW Group’s 28 October 2008 release.
Range Rover, Lexus and convertible BMW
ELLE Australia’s 2014 “hot wheels” list attributed a Range Rover, a Lexus and a convertible BMW to Jolie, but the passage names no models and supplies no ownership documentation. Treat those as items in a magazine’s dated celebrity-car list, not a verified present-day collection. ELLE Australia’s 30 November 2014 list.

The Lara Croft Defender was a Tomb Raider prop
The vehicle most closely associated with Jolie’s Lara Croft is a modified Land Rover Defender 110 used in the 2000 film Tomb Raider. The Dunsfold Collection identifies its example as a 2000 film vehicle and records chassis SALLDHH87YA193643, registration W289 LDA, a 3.5-litre V8 petrol engine and a four-speed automatic gearbox. It is a screen vehicle, not evidence that Jolie owned a Defender.

The collection says the vehicles were intended purely as props, not for road use or sale. Its example is one of two survivors; the other is held at the British Motor Industry Heritage Trust’s Gaydon collection. See the Dunsfold Collection vehicle record.
Dunsfold also reports that audience interest in the film vehicles led Land Rover to introduce Tomb Raider Limited Edition Defenders in 90 and 110 formats. That is a separate fan-facing production history; it does not establish that Jolie owned one of those editions.
Quick Recap
What can—and cannot—be said about her garage
- Can be said: Christie’s announced a Ferrari as Jolie’s in 2024; BMW associated her with a Hydrogen 7 in a 2008 release; and ELLE Australia named three other vehicle descriptions in 2014.
- Cannot be concluded from those reports: that these cars form a current collection, that every reported vehicle was personally owned, or that the Ferrari’s provenance and auction outcome were settled.
- Separate the screen from the personal: the Tomb Raider Defender is documented as a film prop, not Jolie’s personal car.
