The available manufacturer specifications identify five V-12 cars with claimed top speeds of 345 km/h or higher, but they do not support a reliable ranking of the ten fastest cars ever built. The figures below are claims or specifications, not a uniform set of independently verified speed records, so they are best read as a comparison of documented examples—not a top-five leaderboard.
What “fastest” means here
This comparison uses maximum top speed, not acceleration, lap time, or power. It includes only the five cars for which the cited manufacturer sources provide a speed figure. Their inclusion does not establish that they are historically the five fastest V-12 cars: the available sources do not resolve how to compare road-legal production cars with limited-run one-offs, track-only cars, or prototypes.
The figures also are not directly equivalent. Most are manufacturer-published claims or specifications without an independent test result in the cited source; Pagani explicitly states that its figure is electronically limited. No settled ordering of ten cars can be drawn from these examples.
Five documented V-12 cars at 345 km/h or faster
| Car | Manufacturer-published top speed | What the source establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Lamborghini Fenomeno | More than 350 km/h (217 mph) | Lamborghini’s 16 August 2025 announcement describes a V-12 hybrid and gives this as a manufacturer claim. Lamborghini announcement |
| Ferrari LaFerrari Aperta | More than 350 km/h | Ferrari’s history page lists a 65-degree V-12 and this top-speed specification for the 2016 car. Ferrari history page |
| Pagani Huayra Codalunga Speedster | 350 km/h (217 mph), electronically limited | Pagani lists a 5,980 cc twin-turbo V-12 and explicitly says the speed is electronically limited. Its page describes a ten-car build and says deliveries were scheduled to begin in 2026; that schedule is not confirmation that deliveries began. Pagani specifications |
| Lamborghini Revuelto SV | More than 345 km/h | Lamborghini’s announcement describes a V-12 hybrid and calls it the fastest production Lamborghini at the time of publication. That company-specific description does not establish a fastest-ever V-12 ranking. Lamborghini announcement |
| Aston Martin Vanquish Volante | 345 km/h | Aston Martin Türkiye’s regional news page gives this manufacturer-published specification for the 5.2-litre V-12 model. Aston Martin Türkiye |
Why these figures do not make a top-ten ranking
Claimed speed is not the same as a verified record
A manufacturer specification tells you what the maker publishes for a car; it is not, by itself, evidence that an independent tester recorded that speed under comparable conditions. The cited pages do not provide a consistent set of independently verified measurements. Treat “over” figures as thresholds claimed by the manufacturer, not exact speeds or directly comparable test results.

An electronic limit changes the comparison
Pagani’s 350 km/h figure is explicitly limited electronically. It describes the car’s stated governed maximum, not an unrestricted maximum demonstrated by the source. A speed limiter and an unqualified top-speed claim should therefore be labeled separately rather than ranked as if they measured the same thing.
The eligible-car class needs a rule
A defensible “fastest ever” list must state whether it covers production road cars only or also admits one-offs, track-only cars, and prototypes. It must also decide how to treat limited production. The cited examples do not settle those boundaries or provide a comprehensive candidate set, so extending them into ten ranked entries would imply evidence that is not established.

How to read a future V-12 speed ranking
- Check the class: confirm whether each entry is road legal, a production model, a one-off, track-only, or a prototype.
- Keep the attribution: distinguish manufacturer claims and specifications from independently verified runs.
- Record any limiter: an electronically governed speed is not automatically comparable with an unrestricted maximum.
- Compare like with like: use a consistent definition of top speed and a consistent inclusion rule before ordering cars.
