But the evidence does not support a defensible, complete top-ten ranking: the examples span coupes and a four-door sports saloon, hybrids and combustion-only cars, and different speed qualifiers. Here is what the cited specifications establish—and what they do not.
Why a definitive top 10 would be misleading
“Fastest” needs a consistent measure, such as manufacturer-claimed maximum speed, electronically limited road speed, or independently measured speed. The available figures are manufacturer-published and are not a comparable independent test series. A claimed maximum speed should not be read as a verified test result, and an electronically limited speed is not equivalent to a track-only target.
The category also needs boundaries. Porsche describes the Panamera as a four-door sports car, while the other examples include two-door coupes. The Porsche 911 Carrera GTS and Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid combine turbocharged engines with electrification; whether they belong depends on whether “turbocharged” includes hybrids. Finally, Hennessey’s Venom F5 is identified as a hypercar, not an ordinary sports-car entry, and its cited 300-mph figure was a planned target.
What the 2024 manufacturer specifications show
These candidates are listed by the published speed figure, not as a definitive ranking of all factory-turbocharged sports cars sold in 2024. The figures come from different manufacturers and retain the qualifiers reported by those sources.

| 2024 model | Published top-speed figure | Scope and powertrain note |
|---|---|---|
| Porsche Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid | 325 km/h (about 202 mph) | Manufacturer-reported. Four-door sports saloon; turbocharged V8 paired with an electric motor. Porsche, July 18, 2024. |
| Porsche 911 Carrera GTS | 312 km/h (about 194 mph) | Manufacturer-reported. Performance hybrid with a turbocharged engine; not a combustion-only entry. Porsche, May 28, 2024. |
| Porsche Panamera GTS | 302 km/h (about 188 mph) | Manufacturer-reported. Four-door sports saloon. The cited release identifies the model and speed but does not establish a comparable independent test result. Porsche, July 18, 2024. |
| Porsche 911 Carrera Coupé | 294 km/h (about 183 mph) | Manufacturer-reported. The 2024 announcement describes a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter boxer engine. Porsche, May 28, 2024. |
| Mercedes-AMG GT 63 Coupe | 196 mph | Electronically limited. The 2024 U.S. model page lists a handcrafted 4.0-liter V8 biturbo, 577 hp and 590 lb-ft. Mercedes-Benz USA, 2024 model page. |
| Mercedes-AMG GT 55 Coupe | 183 mph | Electronically limited. The 2024 U.S. model page lists a handcrafted 4.0-liter V8 biturbo, 469 hp and 516 lb-ft. Mercedes-Benz USA, 2024 model page. |
| Toyota GR Supra | 155 mph | Electronically limited top track speed in Toyota’s 2024 newsroom material. The cited result describes turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six and 2.0-liter inline-four options; the page was inaccessible when checked, so confirm the specification with an accessible Toyota source before relying on it. Toyota USA Newsroom, 2024. |
Speeds in parentheses are approximate unit conversions for reader convenience; the listed original figures are the manufacturers’ published values. The different body styles, powertrains and speed qualifiers mean the table is a comparison of documented examples, not a like-for-like performance test.
What the Nürburgring figures do—and do not—tell you
Porsche says its test driver Lars Kern completed the Nürburgring Nordschleife in a Panamera Turbo S E-Hybrid in 7:24.172 on July 12, 2024. Porsche described the car as otherwise corresponding to the series version, with a racing seat and safety cage fitted for driver protection. That is a manufacturer-reported lap time, not a top-speed measurement or proof of a class-wide ranking. Porsche’s record announcement also provides context on the car’s track setup.

A separate Porsche article reports a 7:03.92 Nordschleife lap for a new 911 Turbo S during final development drives in autumn 2024. That article concerns a later model announced in 2025, so the lap alone does not make it a 2024 model-year entrant. Porsche, 2025.
Why the Venom F5 is not a verified 300-mph entry
Hennessey announced in February 2024 that it planned for the Venom F5 to exceed 300 mph that year. The announcement establishes a target, not an achieved speed. It also identifies the F5 as a hypercar, so it belongs only in a list whose criteria explicitly include hypercars and a qualifying production configuration. It should not be ranked at 300 mph as though that speed had been recorded. Hennessey’s announcement.

How to read a factory top-speed claim
- Check the qualifier: “Electronically limited” describes a set ceiling, while a planned speed is not an achieved result.
- Check the vehicle category: decide whether four-door sports saloons and hypercars qualify alongside two-door coupes.
- Check the powertrain rule: a turbocharged hybrid still has a turbocharged engine, but it is not equivalent to a combustion-only car.
- Keep model year distinct from calendar year: a lap reported in 2024 can concern a model introduced later.
- Do not treat different sources as a controlled test: manufacturer specifications can be useful, but they do not show that each car was tested under identical conditions.
Track equipment is model-specific
For its Panamera record-lap discussion, Porsche says the car used N0-marked Michelin Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires developed specifically for the Panamera and dynamic driving situations. The listed sizes were 275/35 ZR 21 at the front and 325/30 ZR 21 at the rear. Those sizes are a Panamera-specific equipment example, not a recommendation or fitment guide for other cars; owners should confirm approved fitment for their exact vehicle. Porsche, July 18, 2024.
