That answer depends on counting the boxy Soul as a crossover SUV. If you exclude it, the Hyundai Venue is a likely low-price alternative, though the U.S. Venue price cited below comes from a regional dealership article rather than Hyundai.
What was the cheapest Korean crossover SUV in the U.S. in 2024?
The 2024 Kia Soul LX had a manufacturer-announced MSRP of $20,190, according to Kia America’s August 22, 2023 pricing announcement. Kia listed its $1,375 destination fee separately, so the price was not an out-the-door total. These are historical model-year list prices, not a record of what a particular buyer paid.
The classification matters: the Soul is also described as a boxy small car, and some shoppers or vehicle lists may not count it as an SUV. On the evidence available here, it is the lowest-priced supported candidate only when the Soul is included in the crossover category.
How did the Soul compare with other Korean crossovers?

The Venue figure suggests it could be the cheaper conventional alternative if the Soul is excluded, but the source quality is not equivalent to Kia’s manufacturer pricing announcement. The Seltos provides a clearer manufacturer-sourced comparison: its 2024 starting MSRP was $4,200 above the Soul LX’s, before either model’s destination fee.

Why the answer changes outside the United States
“Cheapest” is not a worldwide ranking. Prices, trims, taxes, delivery charges, and model availability vary by market. Hyundai Motor Company’s Korea price pages list local 2024 trims in Korean won, rather than U.S. MSRP.

Those Korean prices establish the local list-price context for Venue and Kona; they do not determine which model was cheapest in the U.S. Nor should KRW figures be compared directly with U.S. prices without accounting for market-specific costs and specifications.

What the 2024 starting MSRP does—and does not—tell you
- It identifies a historical list price. Kia announced the 2024 Soul prices on August 22, 2023, and the 2024 Seltos starting price on April 10, 2023.
- It is not the total purchase cost. The stated Kia destination fees were separate from the quoted MSRPs; taxes, registration, dealer charges, discounts, and other transaction details are not established by these figures.
- It does not establish present availability. A model-year MSRP cannot tell you whether a dealer has a new or used 2024 vehicle in stock today, or what a current seller is asking.
- It is not a complete vehicle recommendation. The price sources do not establish a like-for-like comparison of fuel economy, safety equipment, cargo space, warranty, or driving characteristics.
Bottom line
For U.S. 2024 model-year pricing, the Kia Soul LX is the best-supported lowest-price answer if you count the Soul as a crossover SUV: $20,190 MSRP before its $1,375 destination fee. Excluding the Soul makes the Venue a likely contender, but the cited U.S. Venue price is secondary evidence. In South Korea, Hyundai’s local 2024 price list uses different trims and KRW prices, so it is a separate market comparison.
