The BMW i4 was reported as BMW’s best-selling electric model in the first half of 2024. That model-level ranking came from BMWBlog’s August 1, 2024 coverage—not a model-by-model sales table published by BMW. BMW’s official figures confirm strong electric-vehicle deliveries overall, but do not establish how many i4s were sold.
Which BMW EV sold the most in the first half of 2024?
BMWBlog reported that the i4 was BMW’s best-selling electric vehicle so far in 2024, citing double-digit growth compared with the first half of 2023. The report did not give an i4 delivery total. BMW’s official H1 announcement likewise did not break out battery-electric vehicle deliveries by model, so the ranking should be attributed to the contemporary secondary report rather than presented as an official BMW model ranking. What BMW’s official delivery figures show
BMW’s July 10, 2024 announcement reported 179,557 fully electric vehicle deliveries for the BMW brand in the first half of the year, up 34.1% from the same period in 2023. The release described those figures as provisional pending the 2024 Group Report. It also reported 1,096,486 total BMW-brand vehicle deliveries, up 2.3%; that broader figure includes vehicles beyond BEVs. BMW Group’s H1 sales announcement
The BMW Group’s Half-Year Report gives a different-scope BEV total: 190,614 deliveries across BMW, MINI, and Rolls-Royce in H1 2024, up 24.6% year over year. Why there is no exact i4 sales number here
The official figures provide aggregate deliveries, not a model-by-model BEV breakdown. BMWBlog also described the i4’s growth as double-digit without disclosing its unit total. As a result, the evidence supports the reported ranking and growth characterization, but not an exact number of i4s delivered or a numerical comparison with other BMW electric models.
What later 2024 reporting adds
BMW’s third-quarter report later said the i4 remained its most successful BEV over the first nine months of 2024. That offers later-period context for the model’s performance, but it is not an H1 unit count and does not change the scope of the first-half figures. BMW Group’s Q3 2024 delivery report

How BMW described its electric-vehicle momentum
Jochen Goller, BMW AG Board of Management member responsible for Customer, Brands, Sales, said: “In the first six months of the year, we saw double-digit growth of our fully-electric vehicles and models from the upper premium segment,” BMW Group’s July 10 announcement. That statement describes BMW’s broader performance; it does not identify the i4 as the top-selling model.
