That figure comes from a secondary reference, however, so it should not be treated as a definitively verified all-time record. General Motors lists the 2026 electric Cadillac Escalade IQL at 136.2 inches, followed by the 2025 gasoline Escalade ESV at 134.1 inches. This is a focused comparison, not an exhaustive worldwide ranking.
How the ranking works
Wheelbase is the distance between the centers of a vehicle’s front and rear wheels. It is not the same as overall length, which measures the vehicle from end to end. Because those dimensions rank vehicles differently, this list compares wheelbase only.
The available figures support three notably long-wheelbase SUVs. The Excursion’s number comes from a secondary reference; Cadillac’s figures are manufacturer specifications. Model years and source quality are included so the comparison does not imply that every entry has equally strong documentation.

1. Ford Excursion: 137.1 inches
The Excursion is identified by a secondary reference as a heavy-duty full-size Ford SUV produced for the 2000–2005 model years, and as the longest-wheelbase SUV produced. Its cited 137.1-inch wheelbase is the largest figure in this comparison, but the available evidence does not include a Ford brochure or specification guide confirming it. Treat the Excursion as the leading cited example, rather than an independently verified all-time record.

2. Cadillac Escalade IQL: 136.2 inches
General Motors specifies a 136.2-inch (3,460 mm) wheelbase and 228.5-inch (5,803 mm) overall length for the 2026 Escalade IQL, an all-electric variant. GM announced the dimensions in 2025 and said production would start in mid-2025 at Factory ZERO in Detroit. GM’s announcement identifies it as part of the Escalade lineup; the dimensions are the relevant basis for this ranking.
3. Cadillac Escalade ESV: 134.1 inches
The 2025 Escalade ESV is the extended gasoline-powered Escalade in this comparison, not the electric IQL. Cadillac lists its wheelbase as 134.1 inches (3,407 mm) and its overall length as 227 inches (5,765 mm). Why “biggest SUV” can mean different things
A wheelbase ranking is not a ranking by total length. For example, the 2026 Escalade IQL’s listed wheelbase is 136.2 inches and its overall length is 228.5 inches, while the 2025 Escalade ESV measures 134.1 inches between axles and 227 inches overall. Those are separate dimensions, and an SUV can place differently depending on which one is being compared.
For a contemporary point of reference, Nissan lists the 2025 Armada at a 121.1-inch wheelbase and 209.6-inch overall length. It is not among the three longest supported examples above. Nissan’s 2025 model-year press kit.

How definitive is this ranking?
The three entries are the strongest supported examples in the available comparison, not a proven global top three. The evidence does not establish complete coverage of production SUVs across every country and era, and the Excursion’s wheelbase and record characterization lack primary-source confirmation here. The ranking should therefore be read as a comparison of these documented examples, not an exhaustive all-time record list.
Other lists may rank SUVs by overall length instead. Those rankings answer a different question and cannot be substituted for wheelbase comparisons.
