Triumph lists a 2,458 cc engine for the Rocket 3 Storm R and describes the Rocket 3 as having “the world’s largest production motorcycle engine.” That is Triumph’s claim, not an independently verified global ranking. The available manufacturer specifications support a useful comparison of a few large-engine motorcycles, but they do not establish ten distinct bikes in a consistent market and model-year scope. So this is a verified-specification snapshot—not a ranked top ten.
Verified large motorcycle engine specifications
The figures below come from the manufacturers’ cited specifications. They are not a complete global list, and the Indian Challenger entries are separate engine variants of the same model line.
| Motorcycle or variant | Displacement | What the source establishes |
|---|---|---|
| Triumph Rocket 3 Storm R | 2,458 cc | Triumph’s official specification lists this capacity. Triumph’s Rocket 3 page calls it the world’s largest production motorcycle engine; that ranking is the manufacturer’s claim. Triumph Rocket 3 Storm specifications; Triumph Rocket 3. |
| 2025 Indian Challenger Limited with 112 | 1,834 cc | Indian lists this capacity for the Limited with 112 variant. Indian Challenger Limited with 112 specifications. |
| 2025 Honda Gold Wing | 1,833 cc | Honda’s February 4, 2025 specification release lists a liquid-cooled, horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine. Honda 2025 Gold Wing specifications. |
| 2025 Indian Challenger, standard PowerPlus | 1,768 cc | Indian’s 2025 specification lists this capacity for the standard PowerPlus engine. Indian 2025 Challenger specifications. |
Why this is not a verified top ten
A “biggest” list needs a consistent scope: for example, a specified model year and market, and a rule for whether different engine variants count as separate entries. The cited sources do not establish ten distinct motorcycles with consistent official specifications under such a scope. Filling the remaining places or assigning a definitive global order would go beyond the verified information.
One named engine is not enough to rank a bike
Harley-Davidson’s 2025 Breakout page identifies a Milwaukee-Eight 117 engine, but the retrieved page material does not establish its displacement in cc. The model name alone is not a sourced cc figure, so the Breakout cannot be placed in a displacement ranking from that information. Harley-Davidson 2025 Breakout.

What displacement tells you—and what it does not
Displacement is the engine’s swept volume, expressed here in cubic centimetres. It is a useful way to compare engine size, but it does not by itself tell you how a motorcycle performs or what it is designed to do. Cylinder layout, cooling, rated power, torque, transmission and the motorcycle’s form all matter; the cited manufacturer pages do not provide every one of those details consistently for every example.
The Gold Wing illustrates why configuration belongs alongside capacity: Honda specifies a horizontally opposed six-cylinder engine, not just an 1,833 cc figure. For the Indian Challenger, the separate 1,768 cc and 1,834 cc entries show why trim and engine variant should remain attached to a displacement number rather than being collapsed into one model-wide figure.
