BYD UK says the rear boot is accessed through a standard powered tailgate and adds two tethering hooks for securing loose items. BYD Spain says the front compartment no longer has a cover, making it easier to access; BYD Germany describes the redesigned area as suitable for charging cables or a carry-on case. Has the SEAL got bigger inside?
The published update describes increased luggage capacity, not a larger passenger cabin. BYD’s original European launch specifications list the SEAL at 4,800 mm long, 1,875 mm wide and 1,460 mm high, with a 2,920 mm wheelbase. BYD UK presents the cargo change as maximizing luggage space within the existing 4.8-metre footprint. Neither the update notices nor the cited launch dimensions establish an increase in rear legroom, headroom or other cabin measurements.

What else changed for 2026?
BYD’s UK and Spain announcements mention driver monitoring or fatigue detection, a Bluetooth key, revised exterior colours and new 19-inch wheel designs. Some details are market-specific: the UK notice says NFC functionality remains despite removal of the armrest logo, while Spain says the screen’s rotation function has been removed. Check the specification for the country where the car is sold rather than assuming every announced feature applies everywhere.

At its announcement on 19 February 2026, BYD UK listed two versions. Prices and performance figures below are UK-market claims from that announcement; they should not be treated as global specifications.

Why prices and trims differ by country
The UK range and prices are not directly comparable with Spain’s. BYD Spain’s April 2026 notice lists Comfort, Design and Excellence AWD, with starting prices of €34,455, €37,115 and €41,060 respectively under the campaigns and conditions stated in that announcement. Those figures are specific to Spain and include stated campaign conditions; trim availability and incentives differ by market. Check the BYD Spain announcement for its local terms.
How to compare the cargo figures
The 2026 figures show a stated increase over the previous SEAL, but they do not by themselves establish how much luggage fits compared with another car. The cited manufacturer announcements do not provide an independent test or a common measurement method for cross-model comparisons. When comparing vehicles, use figures measured on the same basis and consider the shape and accessibility of each storage area as well as its stated volume.
