Tesla unveiled the redesigned Model Y in China on January 10, 2025, with revised styling, chassis and cabin features. The launch lineup’s quoted prices and range figures are historical China-market specifications—not current prices, delivery estimates or figures that can be directly compared with US EPA ratings.
When did the refreshed Model Y launch?
Tesla listed two China-market versions, both called the Launch Series, on January 10, 2025. CnEVPost reported that deliveries were then expected to begin in March 2025. The redesign was referred to as “Juniper” in launch-period coverage by TechCrunch and CarNewsChina.

At the time of the announcement, TechCrunch described China as the initial market and said Tesla intended the vehicle for China and other Asia-Pacific markets; timing for Europe and the US was then unclear. That was a description of the January 2025 launch moment, not a current availability update. The historical China launch figures below do not establish today’s pricing, inventory, delivery timing or equipment for any market.
What were the China launch prices and specifications?
CnEVPost reported the following China-market Launch Series figures in January 2025. Prices and delivery timing were reported at launch and should not be read as current offers.

CnEVPost also reported launch dimensions of 4,797 mm long, 1,920 mm wide and 1,624 mm high, with a 2,890 mm wheelbase. These are China-market launch-reporting figures, not a universal specification for every Model Y.
How should you interpret the range figures?
The 593 km and 719 km figures above are China-market CLTC estimates reported by CnEVPost in 2025. They are not US EPA ratings, and figures based on different test cycles should not be treated as like-for-like. Tesla’s official overview separately lists a 320-mile EPA-estimated range for an AWD trim in its US-oriented presentation. That is a different market and rating cycle from the China Launch Series figures.

Tesla’s overview, published April 1, 2025 and updated December 12, 2025, also says the redesigned Model Y has “5% more range with the same battery energy” compared with earlier Model Y vehicles. This is Tesla’s manufacturer claim, not an independent test result, and should be understood within the scope of the version Tesla describes on that page.

Exterior styling and lighting
The redesign brings a lower nose, a new lightbar spanning the front, revised fascia and aerodynamic details, plus a rear lightbar and redesigned tailgate. TechCrunch’s January 2025 account also described the new front and rear cross-car lighting. Tesla’s official Model Y overview describes the exterior changes.

Chassis and noise reduction
Tesla says the car has a stiffer body structure, revised suspension geometry and kinematics, and damping technology borrowed from the updated Model 3. The company also claims road noise is reduced by 22%, impact noise by 20% and wind noise by 20%. These percentages are manufacturer claims; they have not been independently verified here. TechCrunch likewise reported Tesla’s claims of improved suspension and reduced road noise in its launch coverage.
Cabin, seats and rear display
Tesla describes higher-quality interior materials and additional acoustic damping. It also lists roof-glass coatings that reflect seven times more solar energy, more comfortable and ventilated first-row seats, and powered second-row seat recline.

For rear passengers, Tesla lists an 8-inch touchscreen with climate controls, gaming and streaming, as well as dual Bluetooth connectivity and two 65 W USB-C outlets. TechCrunch’s January 2025 report also noted the rear display and powered rear seats. Tesla’s overview is not a China launch trim-by-trim equipment matrix, so the presence of a feature should be checked against the specific market, model and trim being considered.
What to check when comparing Model Y versions
For a useful comparison, match the market and date, drivetrain and trim, range-test cycle, price at the same point in time, and the equipment actually listed for that version. A China CLTC figure and a US EPA estimate describe different rating systems; the numbers alone do not establish how two versions compare under identical conditions.

If you are considering a front-trunk organizer or other accessory, Tesla’s overview describes a redesigned front-trunk drain plug and a separately sold accessory system that supports uses such as a shopping-bag divider. Confirm fitment for the exact model year and market before buying; the cited information does not establish third-party product compatibility or current listings.
