Tesla’s Halloween Mode is a seasonal software feature set reported to be rolling out with update 2026.38.3. It adds spooky visuals and sounds, a Halloween Light Show, themed wraps and lock sounds, Photobooth effects, and a Trick or Treat interaction. Reporting confirms support for vehicles with AMD-powered infotainment; Intel compatibility has not been confirmed. No accessory is identified as necessary.
What Halloween Mode adds
Launch coverage describes Halloween Mode as a collection of seasonal effects, not a change to how the car drives or to its Full Self-Driving capability. The reported features include:
- Ghost avatar and altered visuals: The vehicle avatar appears in a ghost costume, with changes to surrounding-vehicle and pedestrian visuals. A Halloween-themed parked scene is also reported.
- Trick or Treat: Spooky sounds and flickering lights reportedly activate as visitors approach after the driver exits.
- Halloween Light Show: The update is reported to add a themed show. Tesla’s general Light Show documentation describes starting shows from the vehicle interface or app and loading custom show files from USB, but does not establish that a USB drive is needed for Tesla’s Halloween show. Tesla owner manual
- Seasonal wraps and lock sound: Halloween-themed wrap choices and a new lock sound are included in the reported feature set.
- Photobooth: The Halloween option reportedly adds themed frames and stickers.
- Remote voice effect: When using the app’s remote speaking function, the car reportedly renders the voice in a scary style.
Tesla’s October 6, 2026 announcement was quoted in launch coverage as saying, “This spooky update turns your Tesla into a haunted house on wheels.” Launch coverage
Which Teslas are compatible?
Current launch reporting confirms Halloween Mode on vehicles with AMD-powered infotainment. It does not confirm Intel-powered vehicles. The report also says some fullscreen parked-scene and Photobooth details are limited to newer AMD systems; Intel vehicles may lack those effects even if some existing wrap and lock-sound features are available. No definitive model-year or regional eligibility table has been established.
