What was the Tesla TRON: Ares tie-in?
There were two distinct touchpoints: a reported in-car visual theme and an Optimus appearance at the movie premiere. The first was a vehicle-software experience described by TechRadar on October 14, 2025. The second is documented in Tesla’s Q3 2025 investor update, filed with the SEC on October 22, 2025.

Which Tesla models were reported to have the theme?
TechRadar named Model 3, Model Y, and Cybertruck in its October 2025 report. Treat that list as the models named in that coverage, not as a current compatibility guarantee for every vehicle within those lines. The report does not supply a full eligibility matrix, and Tesla’s quarterly filing documents the premiere image rather than Toybox feature availability.
How to look for the reported Toybox option
TechRadar placed the option in App Launcher > Toybox. If the TRON theme appears in a vehicle, the report describes a Light Cycle navigation icon and, on vehicles equipped with optional ambient lighting, a red cabin-light setting. If it is absent, the available evidence does not establish whether that is due to model, hardware, region, software version, or the theme no longer being offered. The October 2025 report is historical; it does not confirm availability in October 2026.

Was Tesla paid by Disney?
That has not been established. TechRadar said it was not known whether Disney paid Tesla for the movie promotion. The presence of a film-themed vehicle setting and Tesla’s premiere image proves visibility, but not payment or the terms of an agreement. No specific statement from a Tesla or Disney executive confirming partnership terms is documented in the available sources.
What is TRON: Ares?
Disney describes the film as following “a highly sophisticated Program, Ares, who is sent from the digital world into the real world on a dangerous mission, marking humankind’s first encounter with A.I. beings.” Disney lists the film as a PG-13 science-fiction/action-adventure directed by Joachim Rønning and starring Jared Leto, Greta Lee, Evan Peters, and others. Its official film page gives a runtime of 1h 59min and a theatrical release date of October 10, 2025.

Disney’s page also announced a home-viewing schedule: digital release December 2, Blu-ray release January 6, and Disney+ streaming January 7. The video titles on that page omit the year, so those dates are best understood as the announced schedule rather than a guarantee of present availability in every territory. Separately, the Associated Press reported a Comscore estimate of $33.5 million for the U.S. opening weekend; that figure is an opening-weekend estimate, not a final worldwide gross.

Daytona International announced five TRON-themed shirt designs, including a TRON: Ares key-art T-shirt, for ¥11,000 each. The 2025 announcement said they would be offered through Daytona Park and selected FREAK’S STORE outlets from October 10. It also scheduled a full-size Light Cycle display in Kyoto for October 17–19, 2025. Those are historical announcement details, not confirmation that the shirts or display remain available.
