CarGuide.PH reported the change on October 7, 2026, and said the listed price remains ₱2,849,000 and WLTP range remains 681 km. Those are reported specifications, not independent test results.
What changed on the Tesla Model Y L in the Philippines?
The reported change is its claimed 0–100 km/h acceleration time: CarGuide.PH lists 4.5 seconds instead of 5.0 seconds. That is a half-second reduction in the published figure. The report does not identify a software version, hardware revision, VIN range or delivery cutoff for vehicles with the updated specification. CarGuide.PH’s October 7 report gives the figures but does not provide an independent acceleration test.
Did it get faster without a price increase?
According to the same report, the Model Y L remains listed at ₱2,849,000, with a 681 km WLTP range. The source presents those figures alongside the acceleration update; they should be treated as reported Philippine-market specifications, not as independently verified measurements. Tesla’s Philippine Model Y page identifies the L as a three-row vehicle, but the page reviewed does not independently confirm the October acceleration change.
What is known about the reason for the change?
The technical cause has not been established for Philippine Model Y L vehicles. GoFlatOutPH relayed a possible front-motor change attributed to a separate Chinese report based on regulatory filings, but that explanation is unverified for Philippine units and is not confirmed by Tesla’s Philippine product page or owner manual. GoFlatOutPH’s October 5 report is secondary reporting, not confirmation of the Philippine vehicle’s engineering.

Does the update mean owners can use Launch Mode?
No such conclusion is supported by the available information. Tesla’s Model Y owner manual says acceleration modes and their availability depend on market, configuration and software. Its general controls guidance describes Controls > Dynamics > Acceleration, but does not connect that setting to this reported specification update. The manual also states: “Launch Mode is available for Performance vehicles only.” The Model Y L report does not say that Launch Mode is involved.
Tesla further cautions in the manual: “Using the increased torque and power can reduce range and efficiency.” This is general guidance about using higher output, not an explanation of the Model Y L update. See Tesla’s Philippine English Model Y owner manual, Acceleration Modes; available modes may vary by market, configuration and software.

What existing and prospective owners should verify
The reports do not establish whether the faster figure applies to existing vehicles through a software update or only to certain new builds. They also do not specify an effective date or eligible VINs. Buyers should check the live Tesla Philippines configuration and request confirmation for the specific vehicle they are ordering; current owners should check Tesla’s vehicle-specific software and configuration information rather than assume an update is available.
