Tesla’s 2024 U.S. lineup included five vehicles: Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck. For a dated price reference, the Associated Press reported that after Tesla’s April 19, 2024 price cuts, the Model Y started at $42,990, the Model S at $72,990 and the Model X at $77,990. Those are snapshot prices—not a complete list of every model’s 2024 price or a guarantee of what a buyer paid.
What Tesla models were available in 2024?
Tesla’s 2024 Form 10-K names five consumer vehicles: Model 3, Model Y, Model S, Model X and Cybertruck. In broad body-style terms, they cover a sedan, a smaller SUV or crossover, a premium sedan, a premium SUV and a pickup, respectively. Tesla’s 2024 Form 10-K is the source for the five-model lineup.
- Model 3: sedan
- Model Y: smaller SUV or crossover
- Model S: premium sedan
- Model X: premium SUV

How much did a Tesla cost in 2024?
As of April 19, 2024, the Associated Press reported the following U.S. starting prices after Tesla reduced the Model Y, Model S and Model X by $2,000. These figures are reported starting prices for that date, not full-year prices or all-in purchase totals.

The price-cut report is from the Associated Press. It does not provide exact prices for the Model 3 or Cybertruck. Nor does it establish a complete trim-by-trim timeline for all five models, so these figures should not be treated as a full record of Tesla’s 2024 pricing.

Why 2024 Tesla prices varied
A starting price is not necessarily the amount a buyer paid. Trim and options can change the vehicle price; fees, taxes, incentives, financing terms and local-market differences can change the purchase economics or total. Tesla’s 2024 annual filing later said lower automotive sales revenue was partly attributable to falling average selling prices amid overall price reductions and attractive financing options. Which Tesla was cheapest?
The April 19 announcement does not establish a definitive cheapest Tesla across all five models: it gives post-cut starting prices only for Model Y, Model S and Model X, while saying Model 3 and Cybertruck prices were unchanged without stating their exact amounts. A reliable answer needs a specific market, date and trim, and must clarify whether it includes fees or incentives. The April snapshot alone is not enough to rank the full lineup by price.

How to compare Tesla models
Start with the kind of vehicle and space you need, then compare the specific versions available for the model year and market you are considering.
- Body style and use: Decide whether a sedan, crossover or SUV, or pickup best fits your passengers, cargo and routine.
- Price and configuration: Compare the trim and options you would actually buy, rather than assuming a starting price describes every version.
- Range and performance: Check figures for the exact trim and model year. A single range or performance number should not be applied to an entire model line.
- Features and specifications: Compare equipment and vehicle specifications alongside price and range. Tesla’s comparison page uses price, range, specifications and features as comparison dimensions; it is a current comparison resource, not a historical record of 2024 pricing.
- Charging: Consider where you will charge and what equipment and electrical work your location requires. Tesla’s current Model 3 page lists Mobile Connector and Wall Connector options. Verify connector compatibility, local electrical requirements and installation needs before choosing equipment.
The available April price report does not supply complete 2024 specifications or a full price table for every trim. For a historical comparison, keep each price, range and performance figure tied to a dated source, market and exact version rather than mixing figures from different model years or dates.
