How fast is the Model Y Performance, and what does its range figure mean?
Tesla rates the Performance at 3.3 seconds from 0 to 60 mph and specifies that rollout is subtracted. That qualification matters when comparing acceleration claims: use figures measured on the same basis. Its listed maximum speed is 155 mph. These are Tesla’s specifications, not independent test results.

The 306-mile figure is EPA-estimated range, not a promise of the distance every driver will cover. Conditions such as speed, temperature, weather, elevation, configuration and battery state affect actual range, according to Tesla.
What features distinguish the Performance trim?
Tesla highlights hardware and styling intended to give the Performance a sportier character while retaining the Model Y’s everyday utility:

- 21-inch wheels, with performance-oriented tires and brake calipers.
- More aerodynamic front and rear fascias, plus a carbon spoiler.
These are Tesla’s descriptions of the equipment and its purpose, not independent findings about handling, ride quality or efficiency. The Performance also carries broader updates introduced with the redesigned Model Y. Tesla’s redesign announcement described an 8-inch second-row touchscreen, dual-Bluetooth connectivity and improved cellular and Wi-Fi performance; those are Model Y redesign features, not exclusive to the Performance trim. Tesla also said the redesigned Model Y had 22% lower road noise, 20% lower impact noise and 20% lower wind noise than earlier Model Y vehicles, and 5% more range with the same battery energy. Those are manufacturer comparisons for the redesign generally, not Performance-specific measurements.

Tesla lists five seats and 76 cubic feet of cargo capacity, alongside the model’s performance figures. For charging, the company gives a maximum Supercharging rate of 250 kW and estimates up to 144 miles added in 15 minutes using constant-speed data at 65 mph. Charging speed and range added in a real session vary; the peak rate is not a session-wide rate or a universal promise.

How much does the Tesla Model Y Performance cost?
The exact current purchase price for mainland U.S. buyers is not established by the available Tesla U.S. product-page information. A Tesla configurator result displayed $57,990, but the linked route was for Puerto Rico, so that figure should not be treated as the mainland price or as confirmation of which fees are included.

Tesla’s October 22, 2025 quarterly update says the company launched the Model Y Performance in the U.S. in October 2025. Tesla’s August 29, 2025 announcement had introduced the refreshed Performance model and framed it as an addition to the broader 2025 Model Y redesign.
