When did the refreshed Model Y arrive?
Tesla said North American deliveries of the redesigned Model Y began in March 2025. The company’s announcement, dated April 1, 2025, therefore documented a delivery start that had already begun; it was not announcing a future March release.
Tesla also said it planned additional trims. Availability and timing can vary by market, so the March date should not be read as a launch date for every configuration worldwide.
What were the U.S. prices?
The reported prices are historical U.S. figures, not today’s configurator prices. Car and Driver’s April 12, 2025 update said the Launch Series was no longer available and listed a different trim, Long Range AWD, at $50,630.

These are published configuration figures, not a guarantee of real-world driving range. Tesla’s April 2025 announcement separately gave the AWD trim it described an EPA-estimated 320-mile range and a 4.1-second 0–60 mph time; that paragraph does not identify the trim as Launch Series. Keep Tesla’s general AWD statement distinct from Car and Driver’s configuration-specific figures.
What changed in the Juniper refresh?
Exterior and aerodynamics
Tesla describes a lower front end, a cross-car front lightbar, revised front fascia, rear lightbar and redesigned tailgate. The company also identifies aerodynamic changes including ducts, a revised diffuser, a spoiler and new wheels.

Cabin and connectivity
Tesla highlights revised materials and console details, ambient lighting, and changes to the seats and ergonomics. The rear cabin gains an 8-inch touchscreen for climate controls, gaming and streaming, plus two 65-watt USB outlets. Tesla also says cellular and Wi-Fi performance have improved.
Chassis and noise
Tesla says the refresh uses a stiffer body structure, revised suspension geometry and kinematics, and damping technology from the upgraded Model 3. The company’s announcement claims road noise is 22% lower, impact noise 20% lower and wind noise 20% lower than in the previous Model Y. These are manufacturer-published comparisons, not independently verified measurements here.

What equipment was reported on the Launch Series?
Car and Driver described the Launch Series as a dual-motor all-wheel-drive model with the Long Range battery. Its reported equipment included a 15.4-inch center touchscreen, an 8-inch rear display, heated and ventilated front seats, a 15-speaker audio system and a front-facing camera. The publication also reported towing capacity of up to 3,500 pounds.
Those details describe the Launch Series and should not be assumed to be standard on every refreshed Model Y trim. Check the equipment list for the exact version and market being considered.

How should you compare Model Y Juniper listings?
Use matching configurations rather than comparing a Launch Series price or equipment list with a different Long Range AWD listing. For each vehicle, check:
- Market and price date, since the cited prices are historical U.S. figures.
- Trim and drivetrain, including whether the listing is for Launch Series or Long Range AWD.
- Wheel size, which changes the published range figures.
- EPA-estimated range, acceleration and included equipment for that specific configuration.
- Which features are standard and which are optional in the market where the vehicle is sold.
Tesla says the redesigned Model Y can gain 5% more range with the same battery energy compared with earlier Model Y vehicles. That is Tesla’s stated comparison, not an independently measured result.
