Tesla launched its Model 3 Standard and Model Y Standard in October 2025, with U.S. starting prices of $36,990 and $39,990, respectively. Tesla said each had more than 300 miles of range. Those are launch figures—not current quotes—so check Tesla’s local configurator for today’s prices and available configurations.
What did the Model 3 Standard and Model Y Standard cost at launch?
Tesla’s Q3 2025 investor update, published October 22, 2025, listed these U.S. starting prices:

| Model 3 Standard | $36,990 | More than 300 miles |
| Model Y Standard | $39,990 | More than 300 miles |
The figures are historical starting prices announced for the U.S. in October 2025. They are not a current local quote, and the announcement does not establish the final price after taxes, fees, or any applicable incentives. Tesla said the launch made its vehicles more accessible following the expiration of the U.S. EV tax credit; that is the company’s explanation for the timing, not a guarantee about an individual buyer’s eligibility or total cost. What range did Tesla claim, and what does the current figure mean?
For both Standard trims, Tesla’s October 2025 investor update said “over 300 miles” of range. That launch statement does not identify a test-cycle figure for each trim or promise the same range for every configuration.

Tesla’s Model 3 page, retrieved October 4, 2026, displayed 321 miles of EPA-estimated range for a configuration. That is a current-page figure for the configuration shown, not a confirmed specification for every Model 3 Standard or a figure to apply to the Model Y. What equipment did Tesla highlight?
In its October 2025 launch materials, Tesla highlighted the following equipment and access for the Standard models:
- Active safety features
- A 15.4-inch center touchscreen
- Heated first-row seats
- A heated steering wheel
- Tesla app functions and access to the Supercharger network, described in Tesla’s October 7, 2025 launch video
These are features Tesla chose to highlight; they are not a complete equipment specification or a guarantee that every item is identical across markets and configurations. Tesla’s verified video called the cars its “most affordable vehicles” and promoted their safety engineering and Tesla features. Those are the company’s launch claims, not an independent assessment. Which features were removed from the cheaper trims?
The launch sources cited here do not provide a complete, item-by-item list of equipment removed from the Standard trims. It would therefore be unreliable to claim that a particular comfort, audio, lighting, interior, or driver-assistance feature was deleted without checking the current specification for the relevant market and comparing it with another configuration.
For a purchase decision, compare the exact local configurations in Tesla’s live configurator. Check included equipment alongside price, drivetrain, acceleration, rated range, and delivery availability; the launch announcement alone does not supply a dated, consistent comparison across trims.
Are the launch prices and trim names still current?
Tesla’s later product pages are live and can change with time and location. The Model 3 page captured on October 4, 2026 displayed a Massachusetts-specific starting price, while the October 2025 investor update gives the launch prices above. These numbers answer different questions and should not be treated as interchangeable. Verify current price and availability in your location before ordering.
Tesla’s 2025 Form 10-K describes that year as the completion of a lineup refresh that included the new Model Y and additional Model 3 and Model Y variants. That provides company context for the launch, but it does not by itself confirm which Standard trims are available now. Tesla investor relations
