A clip attributed to Slovenian driver Jan Skočaj shows a 2025 Tesla Model 3 Highland reversing on Mangart Saddle Road as other cars approach. Supercar Blondie reported the maneuver on October 1, 2026, describing it as making room for the oncoming vehicles. The footage is a striking moment, but it does not establish that Tesla’s Full Self-Driving (Supervised) can reliably handle narrow mountain roads—or that the car performed the maneuver without driver input.
What the clip reportedly shows
Supercar Blondie’s October 1, 2026 report identifies the location as Mangart Saddle Road in Slovenia and the vehicle as a 2025 Model 3 Highland using Full Self-Driving (Supervised). The outlet attributes the clip to Jan Skočaj and says the Tesla reverses on the cramped road to let other cars pass.

The report reproduces an X post dated September 13, 2026. In it, Skočaj describes the road as Slovenia’s highest at 2,055 metres and says a full video would be posted on his YouTube channel. That elevation is the post’s stated figure, as reproduced by Supercar Blondie; the full video was not located. The post’s remaining text is truncated in the report, so its unfinished wording cannot be reliably supplied.
What the footage does not establish
This is a report about one short clip, not a controlled test. The available account does not establish the full sequence, precise road geometry, how long or how far the car reversed, whether the driver steered or braked, or the vehicle’s software version and hardware configuration. It also cannot show whether the behavior is typical, repeatable, safe across similar situations, or superior to another system.

- Theme: Sport
- Toy vehicle form: Car
- Included components: Batteries
- Material: Metal
- The reported reverse is evidence of a maneuver in this particular encounter, not proof of general capability on narrow mountain roads.
- The footage does not establish that the driver was hands-off or that the car operated autonomously.
- Calling the maneuver “extraordinary” is an editorial judgment; the clip alone does not measure system performance.
Why driver supervision still matters
Tesla describes Full Self-Driving (Supervised) as attempting to drive to a destination across varied scenarios, but its Model 3 Owner’s Manual does not present it as a replacement for the driver. The manual says: “Driver intervention may be required in certain situations, such as on narrow roads with oncoming cars, in construction zones, or while going through complex intersections.” It also says: “Full Self-Driving (Supervised) requires you to pay attention to the road and be ready to take over at all times.”
That warning is directly relevant to the reported encounter. A successful-looking reverse in one clip does not remove the need for the driver to monitor the road, judge whether the maneuver is appropriate, and intervene when needed. Tesla also cautions that availability and behavior depend on market region, manufacture date, vehicle configuration, options, self-driving hardware, and software version; its Self-Driving Limitations and Warnings set out further constraints.

What to take away from this incident
The report describes a Model 3 Highland reversing to make room for approaching cars on a narrow Slovenian mountain road. It is an interesting example of a supervised-driving system in a difficult-looking setting, but the missing full recording and unknown driver inputs, configuration, and software version limit what can be concluded. Tesla’s own guidance explicitly warns that intervention may be required on narrow roads with oncoming traffic.
