Contemporary reports listed the Model 3 at CAD $54,990 with an estimated 584 km of range, and the Model Y at CAD $59,990 with an estimated 525 km. These are launch-period figures, not confirmation of current prices or availability.
What Tesla launched in Canada
The launch brought a Long Range RWD configuration to each model. At the time, coverage described the new versions as replacing the previous base RWD versions in the Canadian lineup. The Model Y coverage suggested the change may have been connected to Tesla adjusting its sourcing after tariffs on China-built electric vehicles; that was the outlet’s explanation, not a confirmed statement from Tesla. Drive Tesla Canada reported the Model Y lineup change on October 4, 2024, and MobileSyrup covered both launches on October 10.
Launch-era specifications and prices
The figures below were reported around the October 2024 launch. They describe those Canadian configurations at that time and should not be read as current offers.

TeslaNorth’s October 4, 2024 report listed the Model 3 price, range and acceleration. MobileSyrup’s October 10, 2024 report listed the Model Y figures. The reports characterize range as estimated; they do not establish a single real-world range for every driver or condition.

How the Model Y RWD compared with AWD at launch
MobileSyrup’s launch-period comparison described the Model Y Long Range RWD as less expensive and longer-ranging than the AWD version, while the AWD version accelerated more quickly from 0–100 km/h. These are October 2024 comparisons, not a guide to Tesla’s current Canadian configurations. RWD and AWD are different drivetrains, so a current comparison should use current specifications for the exact trims being considered.
What the launch coverage said about incentives
MobileSyrup reported that the Model Y Long Range RWD qualified for a CAD $5,000 federal iZEV incentive at the time. That is a historical report, not advice about present eligibility: incentive programs and vehicle eligibility can change. Check current official program information and confirm the specific vehicle’s eligibility before including an incentive in a purchase budget.

Are these exact trims still available in Canada?
The Tesla Canada pages reviewed do not confirm that either October 2024 Long Range RWD configuration remains orderable at its launch price. Tesla’s current Model Y Canada page lists an RWD configuration with 463 km of EPA-estimated range, which differs from the 525 km reported for the 2024 Model Y Long Range RWD. Tesla’s Canadian homepage shows current offers and prices, with its price note dated May 1, 2026, but does not establish current availability or pricing for the two 2024 trims specifically.
For a purchase decision, check Tesla’s live configurator or contact Tesla for the exact Canadian trim, current price, delivery timing and applicable incentives. Do not assume the 2024 launch figures or incentive report carry forward.
