The latest clearly dated major-version match is Tesla FSD (Supervised) v14.3.9, tied to vehicle software build 2026.27.5. Not a Tesla App lists September 6, 2026 as its release date, but that date does not mean every eligible Tesla received the update then. Tesla’s rollout and feature availability depend on the car’s hardware, configuration, software, region and other factors.
When did Tesla FSD 14.3.9 land?
Not a Tesla App’s 2026.27.5 release notes identify the FSD version as 14.3.9 and list September 6, 2026 as the release date. That is the closest clearly dated match for the update in this headline; it is a third-party tracker date, not confirmation that Tesla had delivered the build to every owner. A listed release date, software build, FSD version and an individual vehicle’s rollout status are separate things.
Tesla’s official FSD (Supervised) page says feature availability varies with vehicle configuration, hardware, software, region, model, trim and model year. Check the software screen in your vehicle and Tesla’s current information for your region to see what is actually available to you.
What does FSD 14.3.9 change?
The 2026.27.5 notes describe several changes to the supervised-driving software. These are the release-note publisher’s descriptions, not independently verified performance or safety results.

- AI processing: The notes describe an upgraded reinforcement-learning stage and vision encoder, plus a rewritten AI compiler and runtime. They claim the latter brings a 20% faster reaction time; this is a claim in the notes, not an independent test result.
- Driving behavior: Listed areas of change include lane biasing, tailgating, parking, complex traffic lights and response to unusual objects.
- Road users and hazards: The notes mention emergency vehicles, school buses, right-of-way violators and small animals.
- Driver monitoring: Changes to monitoring are also listed.
- Automatic Collision Evasion: The notes describe this feature for specified HW4 vehicles. They also say FSD may activate in certain circumstances while a driver is manually driving; consult Tesla’s vehicle manual for the conditions and limits applicable to your car.
The release-note page labels the build an employee release and also includes upcoming improvements. Those future items should not be read as features already delivered in 14.3.9.
Which Tesla models are listed for the update?
The tracker’s v14.3.9 feature entry lists Model S, Model 3, Model X, Model Y and Cybertruck, and identifies HW4 for the Automatic Collision Evasion entry. That list does not establish that every year, trim or hardware configuration of each model has the same features. Tesla says availability depends on the vehicle and region, so use the release notes as an applicability clue, not a guarantee for an individual car.

Does FSD make a Tesla autonomous?
No. Tesla calls the system FSD (Supervised) and says the driver must actively supervise it. Tesla’s support page states: “None of these advanced driver assistance features make your Tesla vehicle fully autonomous or replace you as the driver.” Stay attentive and ready to take control; do not treat a software update as permission to drive hands-free or unattended.
Tesla’s support page also makes safety comparisons—“7x fewer major and minor collisions” and “5x fewer off-highway collisions”—and points readers to its Vehicle Safety Report. These are Tesla’s claims, not independent findings established by the release notes.

How do you get FSD (Supervised), and what does it cost?
Tesla’s support page states a U.S. subscription price of $99 per month, subject to change, and says the subscription is not available for outright purchase. Existing owners can subscribe in the Tesla app or on the vehicle touchscreen. The vehicle must complete a software update before FSD features are available. Check Tesla’s page for current terms and regional availability.
Tesla’s Q1 2026 update said its Spring Update began rolling out in April and that AI4 vehicles received a new in-car Self-Driving App for subscribing, learning how to use FSD (Supervised) and viewing stats. That earlier announcement describes the app’s introduction; it does not establish current rollout progress for 14.3.9.

What to check before expecting the update
- Confirm your car’s software and hardware. Compare its installed software build and hardware with Tesla’s vehicle information and the 2026.27.5 release notes.
- Check your exact model and region. The tracker lists five model lines, but Tesla says feature availability also depends on trim, model year, configuration and regional availability.
- Look for the update on your vehicle. A tracker’s release date is not proof that the build has reached your car. Follow the vehicle’s software screen and Tesla’s current guidance.
- Review the manual and remain the driver. Read the instructions for the features available on your car, and supervise FSD whenever it is in use.
